A thought experiment💡
If an AI assistant behaved like a real team member inside your workflow…
You wouldn’t evaluate it by what it does.
You’d evaluate it by what it changes.
So maybe task completion is the wrong metric entirely.
Instead, the real KPIs look more like💡
⏱ Time removed from your workflow (not just tasks completed)
🧠 Decisions accelerated (not just answers generated)
⚠️ Errors prevented before they reach you
🗝️Opportunities surfaced that you didn’t notice
📉 Cognitive load reduced across your day
This shifts the framing completely💡
From execution efficiency➡️system improvement
Because an assistant that completes tasks perfectly…
But doesn’t improve your thinking, speed, or clarity…
Is still just a tool.
So the real question becomes💡
Are we measuring AI by output… or by impact on the system it operates in?
Curious how others would design KPIs for their own AI assistant.
