Obsidian + Karpathy Wiki

Hi everyone, I really enjoyed watching the lesson using Obsidian + Karpathy's Wiki set up. I am new to this, so apologies if this is a silly question!

My understanding is that Claude Code turns the resources you give it into markdown files and organises it.

used this set up to help his Executive Assistant know everything about his business.

But what if the resource is a video or an image? Do the format of these files stay the same, or are they turned into markdown format as well? Do all files in obsidian vault need to be in markdown format?

If I wanted to create content about my business, could I tell Claude Code to look in the obsidian vault to find my brand guidelines, logo, images or videos? Will they be easily found and readable?
