Hey everyone,
I’m currently migrating from ChatGPT and trying to get more familiar with the Claude ecosystem/infrastructure.
So far, I’ve set up Claude Code in my terminal and in VS Code, and I’ve started building a “second brain” vault in Obsidian. I’m now trying to figure out what other steps I should take to better understand the Claude workflow and set up internal systems before I start building seriously.
For context, I have a lot of experience with prompt engineering. I had a meta-prompting folder in ChatGPT where I would write all my prompts. I’ve also built a few custom prompt-injection-style workflows in ChatGPT that essentially let me run full apps inside a single chat. From what I understand, though, Claude’s infrastructure and usability layer are quite different, so I want to make sure I’m learning the right mental models instead of just trying to recreate my ChatGPT workflows.
I’m also trying to decide what tech stack I should be using. I’ve seen tools like ClickUp, Fireflies, and Apify mentioned in some of Nate’s videos, but I’m not sure which tools are essential early on versus which ones are better to add later.
My goal is to start monetizing my AI skillset and knowledge base by selling automations to companies. I’m currently an electrical engineering and business dual-degree student, and I’m looking to start making some extra money on the side to help cover bills while building real-world experience.
A few questions I’d love feedback on:
- What are the best first steps for learning the Claude infrastructure properly?
- What internal systems should I build before trying to sell automations?
- What tech stack would you recommend for someone starting out?
- How should I think about the difference between building in ChatGPT versus Claude?
- What would be the most practical path to landing my first few paying clients?
Any advice, resources, workflows, or “things you wish you knew earlier” would be really appreciated.
