🤔Landed a real client need advice on pricing AND deliverables. Help.
Hey all,
Closed two discovery calls with a tax consulting firm (transfer pricing + advisory). Owner is bought in. Now I'm stuck.
The project (phased):
  • auto-populated client tracker + web intake (replacing a 20-tab Excel) + alerts for regulatory filings & cross-sell triggers + dashboard for the partner.
  • Later phases: auto-proposals, AI report generation/QA, email triage.
Stack:
  • I'm usign Claude Code inside VS Code.
Value to client:
  • hours saved, cross-sells unlocked, fines avoided (they almost missed a filing recently).
Two things I need help with:
1. Pricing — fixed vs. value-based vs. retainer? Paid diagnostic upfront, yes/no? Tiered options or single number?
2. Deliverables & ownership — do you host on your infra or theirs? Who pays for licenses (n8n, Claude, whatever is used)? Hand over credentials and flows, or keep them locked? What docs do you ship? How long do you cover bugs before retainer kicks in?
Any frameworks, contract clauses, or war stories welcome 🙏
