Just rejected a prospect doing $500K/month
He wasted my time twice.
First call: No-show. No text. No email. Nothing.
Second call: Shows up 20 minutes late like it's normal.
Not even an apology.
Here's what most people don't understand:
How someone treats your time before they pay you is exactly how they'll treat you after.
Red flags I've learned to spot:
→ Late to discovery calls (they'll be late to everything)
→ Reschedules multiple times (your project isn't priority)
→ Doesn't prepare for meetings (expects you to do their thinking)
→ Talks over you during calls (won't listen to your advice)
→ Asks for "quick favors" before signing (boundary tester)
A disrespectful $500K client costs more than a respectful $50K client.
Why?
→ Endless revisions and scope creep
→ Constantly questioning your expertise
→ Paying invoices late (or fighting them)
→ Damaging your reputation with their network
→ Burning out your team with impossible demands
I used to think money solved everything.
Wrong.
Money without respect is just expensive misery.
The clients who pay the most and cause the least problems:
→ Show up on time to every meeting
→ Come prepared with questions
→ Respect your expertise
→ Pay invoices without drama
→ Refer other good clients
Your time is your most valuable asset.
Don't let someone's bank account convince you to give it away cheap.
Sometimes the best deal is the one you don't take.
