help me think this thought

I have a mac mini that runs 24/7, and a windows laptop i take home. With building stuff ( mostly co work until recently now code) I have used google drive to keep files I'm working on synced between the two. But now doing more coding that is getting complicated pushing to GitHub but still syncing the files. (im a noobie so maybe its just me being confused and even Claude is struggling to teach me...lol)

Now I want to build this AI OS but insure where I should start the files. Should I just let my drive sync both computers. Use just the mini and remote into from the laptop?
