Day 4 - Deploying an Automation
What We Built Today
The System in One Sentence
A self-running robot that hunts down qualified SEO leads for you in Oklahoma City every single day, forever, while you sleep.
What Actually Happens Every Night at Midnight
  1. Robot wakes up on Trigger.dev's servers (not your computer)
  2. Picks this week's niche from your rotating list of 28 (Fire Protection → HVAC → Tree Surgeon → … → Tea Shop)
  3. Searches Google Maps for that niche in a 25-mile radius around OKC
  4. Throws away the top 5 results — those businesses already rank #1–5, they don't need you
  5. Picks the next 20 businesses — these are the ones LOSING the SEO game
  6. For each business, it:
  7. Pulls phone, website, address
  8. Scrapes their site for the owner's email.
  9. AskGoogle's AI "Who owns this business?" — gets the owner's name from reviews, about pages, and the open web
  10. Checks if they're already in your Close CRM (dedupe by phone)
  11. Creates a fresh Lead in Close, tagged "OKC SEO Bot", with everything filled in.
You wake up to 10–20 qualified leads in Close, ready to call.
Why This Is a Money Machine for Your Agency
1. You skip the worst part of sales: prospecting
Most SEO agencies waste 60% of their time looking for leads. You just removed that step entirely. Your only job is to call/email — the highest-leverage activity in sales.
2. The leads are pre-qualified for SEO
You're not calling random businesses. You're calling businesses that:
  • Rank below #5 in their local pack (PROVEN they have an SEO problem)
  • Are small enough that the owner answers the phone
  • You have the owner's NAME ("Hi Nick, I noticed Atomic Fire Protection is ranking #8…")
  • Often have an email for follow-up campaigns
That's a 10x better opening line than "Hi, is this the business owner?"
3. It compounds while you sleep
  • Year 1: ~5,000 leads (20/day × 250 working days)
  • Even at a 0.5% close rate at $1,000/month per client = 25 new clients × $12K/year = $300K ARR
  • At a 2% close rate = $1.2M ARR
You'd need 3 full-time SDRs to generate this lead volume manually. You're now paying ~$30/month in API costs instead.
4. The system is portable to ANY market
  • Change the city from "Oklahoma City" to "Dallas" → instant Dallas lead pipeline
  • Change the niches → target a different vertical
  • Duplicate the project → run multiple cities in parallel
You built one machine. You can deploy it in 20 cities by the end of next week.
5. You have the data forever
Every lead lives in Close with rich notes:
  • Their current rank position (your opening pitch)
  • Their review count (their pain level)
  • Their website status (your upsell angle)
  • Owner name (your relationship hook)
This becomes a proprietary database competitors don't have. Even if a lead doesn't close today, they're in your funnel forever — email campaigns, retargeting, follow-up sequences months later.
Tomorrow morning, check Close. Your first batch will be waiting.
