I tried to do a small scraping setup with Claude Code and the Firecrawl MCP server, and ended up learning something worth sharing.

The goal was simple: pull the ~203 freelancer listings from Fastwork's chatbot category into a CSV — title, seller, price, rating, sales. Firecrawl's own tooling pushes you hard toward its json extraction format with a schema, and its docs explicitly call parsing markdown by hand "the common mistake."

So that's what I did first. The output looked great.
