Day 1 Win: Built My First Newsletter Automation Workflow
Happy 4th of July and happy 250th birthday, America 🇺🇸
I used part of today to complete Day 1 of the AIS 7-Day Challenge, and I’m honestly pretty proud of this one.
I built a newsletter automation workflow that starts with a topic, adds research context, drafts the content in my brand voice, generates a supporting visual, and assembles everything into a formatted newsletter preview.
The biggest takeaway for me was simple:
Automation works best when the process is clear first.
The workflow only started feeling solid once I broke it into clean checkpoints:
research only, writing only, image only, HTML build only, then review/export.
That structure kept the automation from running ahead of me, which is exactly the kind of discipline I want in the systems I build.
