Anthropic's most powerful model is gone — 3 days after launch.
Claude Fable 5: shipped June 9, fully shut down June 12.
The reason: a US government export-control directive. Foreign nationals aren't allowed to use the model — and since Anthropic can't tell in real time who is and isn't one, they just killed it for everyone. Worldwide.
So the most capable public model ever released is right now available to nobody. Opus 4.8, Sonnet & Haiku are all running as normal.
Wild how fast a frontier model can just disappear.
