I wanted to share an insight that landed for me after our practice session last Sunday.
One of the participants asked a question so potent, it stopped me in my tracks.
You know I often speak of our true essence, our true nature, and with my innocent understanding, I assumed that most of us, at some point in our lives, had touched that place within us… that deep feeling of being whole, complete, and connected to the part of ourselves that is always there and will never leave.
Your essence is not what you've acquired, through education, status, or experience.
It’s not your beliefs or roles or learned behaviours.
It's what is innately your own.
It's the pure potential you were born with.
In our essence, we are like young children, there is no inner conflict. Our thoughts, emotions, and actions are integrated. We act without hesitation, from a place of deep, innate trust in life and in others.
And now, the invitation is not just to connect with this part of ourselves, but to do so consciously.
To make the full circle.
To return home to ourselves, but now with the awareness of who we truly are.
There’s a beautiful Sufi saying that captures this so perfectly, it gives words to what I often feel:
"To become that which you were before you were, with the memory and understanding of what you had become."
Ah… this resonates so deeply with me.
And I’d love to invite you to reflect and share!
Have you ever had a moment, a glimpse, of your true essence?
A time when you felt deeply whole, completely yourself, connected to something timeless within you?
Maybe it was in nature, through art, in silence, or during a moment of deep connection…What did it feel like? What did you know in that moment?
Feel free to share in the comments. Let’s witness and hold each other in these moments of truth, remembering what has always been there.
Thank you for being part of this community where we explore, stumble, fall, and rise again.
Where we see each other and hold space.
Where the parts of us that were once on hold, are now being held.
With love,
Jyoti 💛
