😞 I have Covid…

It has been a rough couple of days for my family. My husband and I tested positive for Covid yesterday. My mom who lives with us got it first after coming back from a trip last week. My mom is better now (thankfully), but my husband and I just got it. I wish our symptoms were mild, but both of us feel weak, coughing, and muscle aches.

Both our kiddos don't have it or any symptoms. I’m so thankful for that. My youngest, Justin (6), has asthma so he’s high risk. He actually started wheezing two weeks ago and has been taking his inhaler. That’s why my husband and I are staying quarantined in our separate rooms as soon as we got sick. And when we absolutely need to go out of our rooms, we wear masks and gloves, wash hands frequently and any other safety precautions I could think of.

My eldest, Luke (14), has been taking great care of Justin since yesterday. He’s such a kind big brother. And Justin is listening to him. They’re very close. They ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner together. They played together. And Luke got Justin ready for bed and put him to sleep. Knowing how much they take care of each other helps me heal faster.

We’ve been Facetime-ing and checking in with each other. We’re all giving each other grace that things won’t be exactly the way we might want them to be…and that’s okay. We’re making it work.

This is us this summer at a water park. I’m so grateful we have such amazing and kind-hearted kids. 💕
