Making Landscapes from Portraits + MORE

Hey folks! Someone asked about this last night, so wanted to show a quick behind the scenes of what we do for taking PORT style ads and creating LANDSCAPES from them. There are a few styles we do, but this one is pretty damn reliable when we do it.

We call this a side x side format, as you'll see in the video.

We create color panels that align to the side of the person on the screen, and then use captions, b-roll etc. to fill in the "blank space" that the original portrait video doesn't take up.

This lets us re-purpose a video ad that may have crushed it in a vertical placement like shorts, reels or TikTok for a landscape format for YouTube instream or even FB infeed.
