Swim correction 2.. draggy legs

I tried using some of this in my swim today… early days but it definitely helped. Going to take some focus to make it work! Arse muscles engaged & more aware of what my head’s doing (I was definitely lifting it, so trying not to…) Any tricks for persuading my head not to want to come up with every breath?

@Alan Cardwell lol yeeees… I mean I’m lifting the top of my head- like you showed in the video. I can see that by looking at the lane rope next to me. Any coaching points for keeping it still/ one eye in the water? I think I need to actually speak to you, it’s so hard to explain in text 😆🤦🏻‍♀️🏊‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
Celtman 26
We as usual have a decent cohort tackling this years race. Just onboarding a new lad from the US and Sean will be looking after Gordon this year ( Swissman 25). Just checking and across all coaches we now have 11 entries prepping. It may be useful to ensure you have your logistics in place ASAP and if you need help with support let us know as we do have drivers and runners we can set up for you. Do make sure you have accomodation sorted for your teams as its not fun sleeping on the floor in the Casa Celtman!

I’ll be doing water safety for the swim, and crewing on the bike/run again this year…

Says @Mark Brown the man who support ran for Claire Weller on the high course the year she won, and appeared on the cover of the race manual last year… Admittedly, he didn’t try to keep up with her on the road!
Cold Toes
I feel like I’ve tried most things to deal with freezing cold toes on the bike in winter… and still haven’t found anything that actually works. Currently I have a pair of Fizik winter boots with Lake thermal insoles, and Lusso knee length socks. And I still had numb toes when I got off the bike this morning. What’s your solution?

@Alan Cardwell @Mark Brown is far too smug for his own good 😆
Nutrition
What's your favourite enery gel?

Anyone else use XMiles to buy sports nutrition? Bit of a one-stop-shop, saves having to get stuff from different places.

@Alister Russell I actually take quite a few different supplements these days for various reasons: - Vit D all year round- we’re too far north to get enough. - Vit C, Zinc recommended by my GP, for immune system health particularly as I’m in contact with a lot of sick people with lots of 🦠 - Magnesium for sleep (Ambulance crew, working shifts, my sleep patterns are, ahem, sub-optimal!) - BCAAs for muscle repair & retention while in calorie deficit - Creatine- every perimenopausal woman should. - Collagen type I & II- I have osteoarthritis, an attempt to help out my joints & ligaments. - Plus I guess you could say protein- bars and shakes if I can’t get enough in my diet through the day, and HRT- which is replacing lost hormones after all.

@Beppo Buchanan-Smith oh interesting! Has your track through the water improved? And do you think your sighting of you didn’t have the goggles would be any better or worse having used the Swimstraight thing?

@Kirsty Colquhoun have you tried the Trihard Eye Gel? It doesn’t remove the goggle marks straight away but definitely seems to make them last less than they did without it.
