Building my community to 50 people (small steps) Hey everyone, I'm Dan, my mate @Joshua Bates suggested I come and join. We are now joining forced to do the Blitz Challenge together (in conversations about our name, TBA) But first, I thought it would be rude not to introduce myself, so here is a quick rundown I have been on Skool for nearly 2 months now, and it has been a blast, meeting new people, doing podcasts, in community catch ups, it's been great. Working on making small improvements every day. I am a Nurse by trade so have a huge background in that space, but I have found making meaningful connections on here just a rewarding, hoping it can be my part time job (cause I love a chat) and help other build on their human skills. This is my first blitz, a little late to the party but excited to be here. Massive shoutout to @Jen Ritchie for the inspiration to get cracking on the blitz action! So excited to partner up with a massive gangster! So a bit about how i got here Ive been invested all in on my dreams for going on two decades now, but the form and shape has changed and evolved through the years. Currently working in an audio video studio that ive worked at for the last decade. I joined skool when it was 99 a month only and sat on my butt with it dreading and contemplating my course and what my offer would be yadada. and honestly never really even used it out of sheer intimidation. After seeing 2 ads in particular, 1 being gooses jumping in the pool where he talks about being yourself (i forget the exact wording) but the message i got from it was "that business stuff is great but you don't have to be stuffy and perfected in order to build a community" and that really stuck out to me, 2. I forget the creator but basically they were talking about my exact situation, "well i waited to join because i wanted to make my perfect course" then the other guy guys "you're an idiot" and says let me teach you how to just get started right now. Those 2 motivated me to jump on skool and make it a regular thing. Even if i had no idea where to start, i just started. And the beautiful thing is the rest worked itself out. So instead of just paying for it every month and doing nothing, i jumped on and started my group and invited a few of my local clients to join. I was doing my thing in our community for a little while, we've had communities for my business and related groups before, so we sort of had a flow to it. I wish i could remember what gave me the idea for anchor content, basically something longform you do every month. But we decided that a "listening to your music live" would be a great monthly community event. Since a majaority of our creators are artists this is a great way for everyone to get involved and so far has been a lot of fun.

Its legit like being at a party with good friends. Might sound corny to some people but just think about it You're chilling with trusted people that you know are cool and probably into what youre into or at least things that are cool and interesting Having a good time Somebody new walks in, and has so much to offer because they're the same time of creator as you, or in the same field. They're excited to network and build because thats already what they're in the mindset of. Theres an even playing field because we're all newbies to skool and this new platform, so we're all in a humble mindset. We're still SO EARLY. Ive been in rooms (communities) where im able to drop a ton of value, and people just randomly pop in to mine to drop value back who i've never even met and now we're legit friends. I've also been in rooms where im just surrounded by high-level winners who invite me in and treat me like a friend. Ive literally made more legitimate friends in the same mindset as me in the last month and week of using skool than any thing locally ive ever done. And ive been to a good amount of stuff and made many great friends. Its just amazing how this is like a scaled party with good people. If you're not seeing the power of community and affilliate growth (friends telling friends about dope stuff at scale) I strongly invite and encourage you to spend some time in more communities adjacent to yours and to build up your discovery rank. The more it goes up and the more i engage with other communities the more i get great traffic flowing in. Im ALSO doing cold DMs and im starting to get to the point where the returns at skool are making it hard to justify cold DM! (STILL DOING IT lol) Anyway TL;DR Community is one of the most powerful forms of marketing and value add you could possibly do! Vibes is money baby! Not Only that, but you can make some real friends along the way!
