For me, it's alternating the thing I need to do and the thing I want to do in almost equal time durations. It doesn't always work though :( but sometimes it does, and that's better than nothing. For example, I start completing my piled up work tasks which each part would take around 30 minutes, after one part, I'll stop and read a chapter or two (at max) of a fiction book and get back to another part of my work tasks and so on.
