Guitarist Blueprint ***Sneak Peak***
Hey Guitar Gym, Hope everyone is having a fantastic day. I am so excited about the upcoming Masterclass!!! I had to share a little sneak peak. Quick disclaimer… this will change the way you see the guitar forever! But I know you've heard that before so let's address some concerns: 1️⃣ “I don’t need to learn the fretboard—I just play by feel.” Playing by feel is great, but understanding the fretboard gives you freedom. Instead of guessing, you’ll know where to go next, unlocking better solos, chords, and creativity. 2️⃣ “It’s too complicated, and I don’t have time.” Not in this masterclass! I’ll show you a simple, step-by-step approach that fits into just a few minutes a day—no overwhelm, just results. 3️⃣ “I tried before, but I never retained it.” That’s because most approaches focus on memorization instead of application. I’ll show you how to actively use the fretboard so it sticks naturally. 4️⃣ “I only play rhythm—I don’t need this.” Even if you stick to rhythm, knowing the fretboard helps you find better chord voicings, play smoother transitions, and even add fills effortlessly. 5️⃣ Is it worth $47/mo? I'll let you be the judge, but I'll tell you this, You'll spend thousands getting this level or instruction and 1 on 1 help. Ask me how I know 😂 So what are you waiting for? Take the plunge and finally invest a little in yourself. Here's the link to get signed up. www.skool.com/guitargympro Drop a 🔥 in the comments if you're in! Jake G.

I've been waiting for this my whole life! Okay, not really, but I have been longing for something like this for at least a year :). Have you set the time for the live weekly calls @Jake Galambos Since I'm GMT + 2 not sure if I'll be able to make them (that's okay, recordings work too) but I was just curious.

@Jake Galambos Yea, I can only imagine! And my guess is in that vulnerability the gold will arise that will inspire and provide value to others for years to come.
Practice Saturday & Sunday
I had a lotta time this weekend. Saturday — about 90 minutes: - Neon Moon — Mavericks - Ring of Fire — Johnny Cash - All My Ex's Live in Texas — George Strait - You Can Never Tell — Chris Berry - Amarillo by Morning — Beorge Strait - Have You Even Seen the Rain — Creed. Clearwater Rev. - Act Naturally — Buck Owens - I fall to Pieces — Patsy Cline - Love Me Do — The Beatles ... a few others I forgot. Mostly easy-to-play songs. SO much FUN! 💥🎸 🤠 ============================ Sunday — Almost 2 Hours — I was having SO much fun, I forgot to eat and I stopped when I looked at the clock. - Texas Moon — Vincent Neil Emerson — Played with a backtrack - Black-Haird Quebecoise — Old Crow Medicine Show (WOW!! SO much FUN!) - Long Monday — John Prine (Played against the music on the phone.) - Teardrops are Falling (from the movie, Cry Baby) - Come On, Let's Go — Richie Valens — This wasn't easy. It's fast with fast chord changes. - Viva La Vida — Coldplay — I think I spent around 30 minutes playing this. Not "easy", but not "too hard" either. Bm was the stickler, and got about 90% of the song today. First time. - Kiss Me — Sixpence None the Richer — I just love this song and couldn't stop playing. It was 80 percent "easy", with chords D, D7, G, Em, A. Also very easy chords of Dmaj7 (it's one finger), Dsus2 (it's D, but you remove one finger), Bm11 (easy-peasy), and Bm (okay, NOT that easy). But WHAT a FUN song..!! 😍

How do you learn / practice all these songs? From Ultimate Guitar?
If I needed you ... Take #1
After almost 2 weeks, I kind of have the melody mapped out inside of the travis picking with the thumb. Like I said :) -- this will be not a quick and easy for me but hey what's the reward when things are easy. And to boot, note the kitten in my lap. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YvkTkrqPb60 p.s. I hadn't planned to record anything today but hey I finally got through the entire sequence so I thought what the heck -- holes in jeans and all :)

@Ran Solo Cool insight! I do think if we feed enough data to the neural brain circuity -- enough that it thinks we are serious -- it does keep working even when we aren't actively engaged. Now that is as cool as the actual connections happening!

Barre Chords Question
Does anyone else struggle to get the b and high e strings ringing out when playing barre chords? I've tried adjusting the pressure and angle of my index finger but it doesn't seem to matter what I do or what guitar I'm playing on, these two strings don't ring out very consistently. The action on my strings seems good - it's not high at all on either my acoustic or electric so I don't think that's the problem. I'm starting to think it's my finger shape and length that result in it being difficult to maintain pressure across those strings. I've tried just barring a fret with my index finger and each string rings out okay but when I add in the other fingers for the barre chord the pressure changes and my knuckle seems to pull away ever so slightly and I get dead notes on the high strings. Any tips on how I can improve this? Most stuff still sounds okay even if you don't hear those high notes but sometimes you just need to hear them.

I battled for months, mostly with the B string on 6 string barre chords. Followed all the tips but wasn't happening. Until recently. I think, at least for me, it wasn't technique but time. Some things just take longer. I've been practicing barre chords daily for months, perhaps a year, and I've only recently been able to play a full bar chord :). Work on technique and keep practicing; it will come in due time.
