What Do You Think It Means?
In my new anime-style video, I’m sitting in a director’s chair — cameras in hand — then I walk away… only to turn back for one last close-up. And I want to ask you something before I tell the story. When you hear those words… “I Escaped Hollywood Barely” What do you think I mean? What do you imagine I barely escaped from? Sometimes the audience sees things the writer doesn’t even realize yet — and I’m curious what you feel when you hear it. One small clue: At some point, I stopped being in front of the camera… and stepped behind it instead. Tell me what you think. 🎥✨

I think it is escaping from the vampires of Hollywood that suck your life away in so many ways.

Wow.

Behind the scenes of my book ✨ I just posted a short clip that looks like me sitting in a director’s chair — but in anime form. Here’s why: As I write my book, "I escaped Hollywood, barely", I’m experimenting with something new — using my real photos and turning them into anime-style moments to help tell the story visually. I’m literally watching my memories come alive: • real experiences • real images • reimagined through anime • while I’m still writing the book It’s part memoir, part visual storytelling, part creative experiment — and I’m loving the process. I’m curious 👇 What do you think of mixing real life + anime to tell a true story? Comment below — I’m building this in real time.

📸I Escaped Hollywood, Barely.
🌸 A true story… told by the girl who lived it. I’m writing my book Kuri-chan: Adventures of an American Model in Japan, a true memoir of how I left Hollywood at 14, landed in Tokyo, and became an international model in the 1980s. Every chapter you read here is part of my real life — raw, wild, beautiful, painful, and miraculous. If you want to read along as I write the book in real time, help me shape chapters, give feedback, and be part of this journey… ✨ Join my Skool community! I’m doing a Black Friday Special — FREE! Inside the club you can: - Read every new chapter as I write it - Watch behind-the-scenes content - Help edit and shape the book - Ask questions about modeling, Japan, Hollywood, and the industry - Be part of the creative process with me This is a rare chance to be inside the writing of a real memoir — from the drafts to the finished chapters. If you’ve been following my story, or you just love true Hollywood/Japan adventures… come join us. 💖 Click to join for FREE (Black Friday only!) Let’s write this book together.
