We want to see you play
We want you to post videos of you playing. Nothing fancy at all. No special Camera. Just an iPhone or anything else you got lying around works great. Just post a minute or two of you playing. And share it to the group. Filming yourself and sharing is risky, it’s vulnerable, but it’s literally how you grow… and we all want to chime in and support you and talk about what we like in your playing - and what’s good in it. And it’s also the best way to find out what you need to work on. And that’s why you’re here. You have our support. Let’s see your bass videos. Post something… let’s GO! ⚡️

@Jonny McKee Thank you.
Hi there!
Hey, I'm Samantha -- been playing punk bass since 2008 and rebelled *hardcore* against lessons. Suffice it to say, Present Sam is not happy with Past Sam, but onward we press. ;) I play a Fender II Precision mainly, but I also have an old JBP and an Ibanez GSR that I pick up once in a while. I'm here to learn, collaborate, and have tons of fun working on playing better bass. 🤘

Welcome to the group.
Hello Neighbors
Hi fellow low Enders! I’m new to this group and currently live in Nashville, Tennessee. I was curious about how this could help me with playing. Then, just yesterday, I had a really great conversation with Murphy. Just in that conversation, he helped me realize that my connection to music was much more important than I’ve thought about in several years. Understand the disconnect I’ve had for a long time. I’m happy to be part of this group! It’s also really great that Murphy has put this together for all of us to talk and learn from each other. Thank you, Murphy!

There is a lot of good information here. Welcome to the group.
I was getting tired of filming inside...
Took the studio outside today. Turns out the fretboard works the same in a park as it does in a bedroom. This is what the A/B Jam Method looks like on a simple 3-chord song — well, 4, because that last chord flips on you. (Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door") This isn't complicated. Two zones. Above the root, below the root. That's it. Once you see it, you can't unsee it — and you can jam over anything. What are YOU working on right now? Film it. Post it below. Let's see it. ⚡ Murph PS: The A/B Jam System is sitting in the classroom for $17. That’s about the same as two fancy Starbucks runs. If you want to stop sitting on the root and start moving, this does it.

Great tip. Thank you for sharing. I will see what I can do with it today.
Wayne Intro.
Hey everyone. I am a 57 year old that picked up the bass again after 30 years. I was never good. I have been playing off and on, for the last 6 years with no real focus. I want two things. First, I want to be able to groove better. I want to be able to improvise bass lines, mostly in the jazz and latin jazz styles of music, but also different styles. I want to be able to play in jazz groups without feeling that I can't contribute.

@Samantha Molina Feels good, but my fingers are sore. Syncopation is tough.
