Motivation
Have you ever gotten frustrated and stopped playing for a few months? Then looked at your bass and just didn’t feel the motivation to pick it up and play? How did you finally get over that himp and start to play again?

@Murphy Karges when I get tracks laid down. I can’t work on 1 song at a time. I’ve tried and it doesn’t work well for me.
Practice Space
I have a couple places where I practice. I have an Ampeg micro-VR and Zoom B6 set up in my office. This is where I'll learn songs usually. I can put sections of songs to loop and slow them down with Moises through my computer. Then in my basement I currently have a Boss Katana 500 running through a couple Seismic Audio 410's. I also have an Ampeg Venture V7, I switch between the two amps depending on how I'm feeling. Anyway, this is where we have band practice. My wife is very cool and doesn't mind the noise, she also plays keyboards and sings backup vocals in the band.

That’s a great set up! I have an Ampeg Rocket with a 10” speaker. I plug into the 5 ohm when I’m working on new songs or just for practice. If my neighbors irritate me, I plug into 0 Ohm and turn my pickups to active.

@Paul Rose I wish I had that kind of luck
Hello Neighbors
Hi fellow low Enders! I’m new to this group and currently live in Nashville, Tennessee. I was curious about how this could help me with playing. Then, just yesterday, I had a really great conversation with Murphy. Just in that conversation, he helped me realize that my connection to music was much more important than I’ve thought about in several years. Understand the disconnect I’ve had for a long time. I’m happy to be part of this group! It’s also really great that Murphy has put this together for all of us to talk and learn from each other. Thank you, Murphy!

@Michael Cook it does and there have been performances in my past that were so great that I knew they could never be repeated. Now I’m writing my own music. I got tired of playing everyone else’s music. So I am in hopes this will help.

@Wayne Alan Pedranti thank you
Hi there!
Hey, I'm Samantha -- been playing punk bass since 2008 and rebelled *hardcore* against lessons. Suffice it to say, Present Sam is not happy with Past Sam, but onward we press. ;) I play a Fender II Precision mainly, but I also have an old JBP and an Ibanez GSR that I pick up once in a while. I'm here to learn, collaborate, and have tons of fun working on playing better bass. 🤘

Don’t let present Sam be too unhappy with past Sam. Every time you play, it’s a lesson. You learn something. So, you were taking a lesson simply by playing.
20 year hiatus is over!
Hi everyone. Great to be here. Having sold my original bass when life took over 20 years ago, I've since purchased and revamped (correction, got a friend to revamp) an Eastcoast Bass to get back into it again. I have been amazed at how much I remember, but have a long way to go before the confidence I used to have returns. Ready to try out the lessons in the classroom. Thanks @Murphy Karges
