Recovery tools: TENS unit
Hey Dragons! Curious if you've ever used a TENS unit for recovery? My 17mo old calls it “daddies shockah” 🙊 I use mine multiple times a day. It gives me relief wirh shoulder recovery. The effect is never permanent but it's at least something I can use in between gym sessions and feeling some relief without using pain relievers. Curious if anyone else has used it or had experiences positive or negative? Interested in your story.

@Mike Pirie you bet! My hubs uses the tens for his back since he has a couple herniated discs. I also do PT with a chiropractor which helps too.

@Mark X she lifted 83 kg in the snatch, a new personal record, 110 kg in the clean & jerk, and a total of 193 kg, a new personal and American record. She placed 6th out of 9. I saw that on your profile that you carried the glad that’s pretty cool! Did you get to go to any events that year?

@Mark X My family and I didn’t go to the Olympics to watch her, sorry for the confusion. I cried watching her events though knowing the work she put into herself.

What's your 🍦 flavor of mindfulness? 🧘🏽
Do you meditate? Journal? Pray? Do Breathwork? Something else? How have those worked for you? Are you working on any goals in this area? Feel free to share your journey and what you've tried.

I've started listening to high frequency mixed with music (12.5 Hz) to concentrate while I'm working and then to recover (cellular) and heal when I go to bed at night (528 Hz, the Solfeggio frequency) I fall asleep faster and deeper and have more ability to stay focused working.

Hey guys, when I was soul searching a few years ago, I went down a bit of an extreme path. Working out is obviously very good for you, but sometimes we can take it too far if we aren't attentive to our bodies. Since I didn't know what to do with myself, I got really invested in looks and prioritized being big and muscular no matter what. This led to me working out with a lot of tension and neglecting messages from my body. I looked great, but was physically tensed up so much of the time. I didn't care because I thought aesthetics were all that mattered. One day, I got to go to a massage. This woman pressed down on my leg, and it felt very uncomfortable! She pressed down on it again, this time holding the pressure point there, as I felt an intense, indescribably sharp and squirmy sensation in my hamstring. After 60 seconds, my leg finally "let go" and relaxed! Yes, I didn't even realize I'd been tensing my leg for days on end until she kept a pressure point there for over a minute. And this was not the only area where this happened. That's when I realized that what I was doing was not sustainable. Of course I still want to maintain a good build, but since then, I have kept my workouts very focused on health and balance rather than going to an extreme that hurts me in the long run. This body is our gift for this lifetime, and we must treat it well! What Mark does here is help you get active, share the inspiration you need, and cultivate people that will support you. He cares deeply about the person-to-person connection and about the internal and philosophical transformation that is involved with being fit. That's why you are in such a powerful place here, because you want what is genuinely HEALTHY to your body that will help you become the highest version of yourself INTERNALLY and not only physically. So tell me, did you ever have a phase of extremes in your gym journey?

@Mark X We were stationed in AK, they typically use everything possible on the animals they source for food, etc. My hubs tried pickled moose heart and nose cartilage. He said it was very tender and pretty tasty.
