Local business branded terms.
"Hey @Jonathan Boshoff , all other local SEO fellas please need your help on this , I’ve been working on a dentist site that historically had no issues with branded traffic. They were consistently ranking and getting solid clicks on their branded queries. Since I started optimizing, they’ve begun ranking well on non-branded terms too — even pulling traffic from blogs and informational keywords. Here’s the issue: despite still holding top positions (brand name is 1.2 avg in GSC and when I check manually, it’s #1 in both the local map pack and organic SERPs), branded clicks have dropped. What could be the reason for losing branded clicks even though rankings haven’t changed? Could it be competitors running ads on branded terms, or something else I might be missing? And more importantly, what’s the fastest way to recover those branded clicks while still pushing non-branded growth?
