Tally + Make calculation bug getting massively inflated outputs
Iโ€™m building a simple revenue-loss calculator using Tally + Make, but running into a calculation issue. Inputs:โ€ข Daily calls (e.g. 10โ€“20)โ€ข Missed call % (e.g. 10โ€“30%)โ€ข Avg consultation value ($300โ€“$700) Goal:Calculate monthly revenue loss from missed calls. Problem:Instead of a realistic number, Iโ€™m getting extremely inflated outputs (like $13B+/month), which means something is off in how values are being passed or multiplied. I suspect:โ€ข Tally is sending text ranges instead of numeric valuesโ€ข Or Make is treating inputs incorrectly (arrays/text) Has anyone solved this cleanly without overcomplicating the logic? Would really appreciate a simple, reliable approach!

Can you show your setup in Make as well as the input values you put in the test runs?

How have you guys done partnerships?
I have a friend who recently started a web development/digital marketing agency. They help businesses get a website and customers through it. And they have some clients who want AI receptionists, but they're still new to the business world, so they were chatting with me to try to figure out what kind of partnership we should have. Initially, I brought up a referral-type system as being the easiest because I would handle the client relationship, and they wouldn't have to think about it, and I would just pay them for the referral. But they said they want to handle selling the AI receptionist and scoping the project, and they just want me to do the back-end work. What kind of experiences have you guys had with partnerships? And how have you guys figured out the best way to price things so each person gets a fair cut?

Personally, I don't like other people scoping my work, or handling client relations in general. Haven't had good experience with that. Especially if they're new to AI, how are they gonna scope the project and price it? Also, if you are the one dealing with the client, you can constantly identify new opportunities and upsell, or get them on a retainer. I also do partnerships. My offer is 10% of that clients revenue for life(i.e. for as long as they stay with me and whatever and however many projects I do with them) Alternatively, they could have a bigger portion of the first project(40-50%), but then the client will be completely mine(i.e. I take full income after that project) This is fair and benefits both me and the person referring as I get my value for the work I put in, and they get a constant income stream without having to do anythingโ€”just make the introduction.
I Need Help From Someone Who's Been Down This Road
COMMUNITY REVIEW REQUEST AI Contractor Agreement โ€” Redacted for Privacy I just landed my biggest client โ€” a 19-location franchise โ€” and they sent me a fully drafted Master Services Agreement tonight with their signature already on it. Before I sign I want experienced eyes on a few clauses that concern me. Here are the specific items I'm pushing back on and why. The full redacted contract follows below. โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ• THE THREE ITEMS IN QUESTION โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ•โ• โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€ ITEM 1 โ€” NON-COMPETE (Section 6.4) STATUS: Pushing back โ€” too broad โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€ WHAT IT SAYS: For 24 months after the engagement ends, I cannot provide AI consulting, development, or implementation services to any business in the quick lube, oil change, or automotive preventive maintenance industry โ€” in any state where the client currently operates or plans to operate. WHY IT'S A PROBLEM: - 24 months is a long time in a fast-moving industry - The automotive services space is one of my core target verticals - "Any state where they plan to operate" is vague โ€” they're expanding, so this could cover more and more states over time - It's not just their direct competitors โ€” it's the entire industry category MY PROPOSED COUNTER: Reduce to 12 months. Limit to direct quick lube and oil change competitors actively operating in the same specific markets as the client at the time of termination โ€” not the entire industry across all states. QUESTIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY: - Is 12 months reasonable for this type of engagement? - Is market-specific language standard or will they push back hard? - Have any of you successfully negotiated non-competes down in service agreements? โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€ ITEM 2 โ€” NO-REPLICATION CLAUSE (Section 6.5) STATUS: Pushing back โ€” scope too wide โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€ WHAT IT SAYS:

Bro, ngl, the first two items are sus... I'd just remove them altogether. They're basically saying, if you decide to stop working with us or we decide that we don't want your services no more, you cannot work or operate your business or use your skills to make money for 2 years..... like, WTH?! Honestly speaking, I wouldn't sign those 2 clauses. As for the 3rd item, I didn't understand what the problem was, but your counter offer sounds good. Also, normally, it should be you that writes the contract agreement and sends it to them...

Really good article. Thanks. What's your thoughts on 11Labs Conversational AI in comparison to other platforms? In general as well as especially in terms of latency and languages supported?
