How do you read your Bible?
How do you read your Bible? - Do you follow a yearly plan? Specific topic or book of the Bible plan? - Are you a morning reader, night time reader? - Do you have a consistent space for reading and having time with God?

I listen while I read along currently to ESV version on bible app with The Bible Recap reading plan. But I've also started listening to the audible book The Bible Experience as well. I'm a morning reader, as it sets the tone for my day and gives God my first fruits of every day. :) I haven't ever had a consistent space, as I like to change it up from time to time. For now, I read in my home office before I turn on my computer for the day, in the early morning, with a cup of coffee, next to my big window out to the back yard, and my essential oils going. :) Trying to hit as many senses as possible to make it a sensory explosion to set me up for optimal learning in a joyful setting. :)
Footwear
How are your shoes? Does your footwear help your feet be their best? From the PT perspective our feet our foundational and poor feet can impact knees, hips and backs. Not to mention we get so much of our balance from our feet specifically the big toe. So a lack of control and motion in the big toe can also lead to balance issues. The types of shoes we commonly wear these days can restrict feet and over time change the structure of feet. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of different activities that require different shoes (I.e. running versus walking shoes for work or the store). Over the years I switched to a more minimalist style shoe with wider toe box and less heel drop and I’ve found my feet to be stronger and more supportive! Curious have you ever trialed minimalist or barefoot style shoes? What was your experience? How do your shoes support your foot health and demands of your life?

I love this topic! Especially because the thinking from when I was a kid (1970’s) and my parents’ day was that when you would exercise, it was the norm that you’d wear your “old” shoes to run or exercise. 😖 Hence, the reason my dad probably has had two hip replacements by age 70! He ran 3-7 miles 7 days a week my whole life in his old shoes. YIKES. Today, I tend to replace my cross training, walking, and running shoes regularly, and try not to wear them around town or throughout the day as much as I can. My workout shoes are my workout shoes and day to day shoes are just that. 👣

I love this idea, Caleb! When I was a young mom and began working out again to get fit after having kids and to get back in shape to feel good about myself, I knew I needed more motivation to last a lifetime. Cuz you can get back into pretty good shape after having a baby with consistency in about 3-6 months. But then...what? So I asked the Lord to really help me view my workouts as an act of worship. Far beyond looking good and fitting into your clothes again, (which don't get me wrong, feels good and there is nothing wrong with that!) taking care of my TEMPLE became a way of showing up not for vanity alone but as a way of honoring the Lord by taking care of this one and only body. It became a part of my morning quiet time. It gave my workouts purpose. :) Namely, that purpose became about stewardship, and honoring God, and then feeling good and looking healthy became a byproduct of taking care of the temple which housed the Lord - and THAT is a lifetime activity! :) Today, decades after that initial decision, I still try new things and fun ways to make it about enjoying that time of honoring the Lord by taking care of my body, but also don't feel guilty about any part of my fitness cuz its not about body worship, which so much of fitness today can dip into - it's about worshipping God! :)
Our Daily Activity
I’m headed out to run! I’ve been up since 3 AM - I just finished work, I’m tired, I want to shower and take a nap. Those are not bad things to do! I could very easily do them and it wouldn’t be a problem. Rest is good for us, after all… BUT! Yesterday was my rest day, so I can’t let exhaustion (and truthfully, laziness) control my day today. Every day can’t be a rest day! 🤣 I still have so many hours left today! An hour long run will not impact my schedule in any significant way. I also know I will feel more energized after I exercise. Plus, I have a goal I’m working toward - running a marathon next year - and a body to care for! So, I’m going running! 🏃🏼‍♀️👟 and THEN I’ll take care of my body with a shower and a nap! What have you done/will you do TODAY to take care of your body??

This is so good, Linnie. A good reminder that we CAN rest and nap and still squeeze in that little time of exercise. <3 I've been trying to make sure I hit my 10,000 steps each day which is harder when I am on my computer all day writing content for my mentoring group. So...I'm trying to add back in an evening walk just to get my body moving one more time before end of day, and to ensure movement is sprinkled throughout the whole day. That is a nice way to get my legs stretched out before bedtime, see the pink evening sunset here in Colorado, see the little bunnies and squirrels running around in the cool of evening, <3 and hit my steps goal. And PS I LOVE the addition of the silly gifs to this group. lol 🥰
What a beautiful Morning it was!
I went outside for a prayer walk at 4:07am and ran/slow walking in God till 5:26! Saw so many beautiful things, and I talked with God and walking with God! The cold wasn’t as cold when I got used to it too, and the cold grass too! Yay God!! I put some pictures I took today and my walk too! Also the mushroom was about 4 inches! Bigger than my palm!!
