AI Project: Schedule Tracker
This construction company I do work with wants to start automating some of their processes--everything is on paper right now and coordination is not organized. We are starting with a Schedule Tracker--any foreman can open the app and see on which jobs any worker is scheduled. I want to show a demo, so I can get them on board with a formal project plan and then talk about money. I got great input in the last 2 Vibe Coding sessions on Tuesday--I suggest stopping in, they questions don't have to be technical. I crafted a very detailed prompt. I am working on 2 paths for the demo right now to see what is the best way to go. 1) Because the company is using Google Workspace, Gemini suggested I could build it in Google sheets using AppSheet for the interface. 2) Johnathan and Nicole suggest Google AI Studio, especially if I will build out more functions. Either way I will end up here, but I need a minute to work with the backend. I've got both started, but I need to decide which to finish a demo. The left image is AI Studio, right is Sheets and AppSheet. Will keep you posted.

YouTube - Stop trying to be PERFECT!
Perfection is not the goal on YouTube. Getting better is. When you try to make everything perfect, you stop moving forward. That is called stagnation. It means you are not growing because you are afraid to post. What happens when you chase perfection: - You spend hours fixing tiny things that do not matter. - You worry too much about lighting, sound, or your words. - You edit over and over, trying to make it perfect. - When you finally post, the audience does not even notice the small details you spent hours on. What to do instead: - Focus on getting a little better each video. - Improve one thing at a time—your lighting, your sound, or your hook. - Keep posting even if it is not perfect. - Learn from your last video and move on. Why this works: When you focus on progress, you grow faster. Every video becomes a lesson. The small steps you take each time will add up to big improvements later. Summary: Do not wait for the perfect moment or the perfect video. Start now. Post what you have. Each time you hit upload, you will learn something new. Perfection slows you down. Progress keeps you growing. You got this!

This is a great post. Let me put this out there: balancing quality content versus not trying to be perfect. I feel like this prevents me from publishing faster. OK by quality i mean getting the point across. But a lot of that is getting the outline or script solid before even recording. Any thoughts?
Let’s talk about the em dash(—)...
I use it. I like it. It makes things pop. Clean and easy to read. But I feel called out when I use it… To me it “looks and feels AI-generated.” So now I’m sitting here asking myself….do I ditch it to avoid looking robotic or intellectually incompetent…? Or do I keep using it and be secretly scrutinized…? What do I use in its place…?? These three dots…? Is the em dash dead? With AI do we take the good with the bad like the facts of life…? *sigh Drop your thoughts below or on my Substack post 👇 https://substack.com/@nicolemccainai/note/c-151849468?r=5vlrqn

Great Strunk and White--this is a great nerd topic! So despite the "correct use" of the em dash, what's more relevant is how most people use (or don't use) it. It's not like dashes/hyphens have gone to the wayside. Regardless of AI, they are used all over. (As opposed to semi-colons, quite a different story. Farewell friend!) In my experience, people interpret dashes/hyphens as intended and don't think any more about it. They are doing their job. Keep the em dash alive!

I'm with you @Nicole M. My default is 7th grade. Under that, language feels too goofy for adults. But I guess it depends on the topic and the audience's goals.
