Etsy VAT/Tax Pricing Issue on Larger Framed Sizes – Worth Checking Your Listings
Hi everyone! I’m one week in from launching my Etsy store and I just wanted to flag something I’ve noticed with my Etsy listings in case anyone else is having the same issue. My PrintShrimp prices normally get adjusted by Etsy to show the buyer a higher tax/VAT-inclusive price. For example, I have an A5 set to €20.99 in PrintShrimp, and Etsy displays it as €25.82. I noticed something strange when I turned on a 15% Etsy sale - some of my largest framed prints were actually showing a higher “Now” price than the crossed-out original price. After going through all my variations, I think I’ve found the problem. Most of my sizes are getting the normal Etsy tax/VAT adjustment. For example: 20×28 framed: €144.99 base price → €178.34 on Etsy But my three largest framed sizes aren’t getting the adjustment at all: 20×30: €154.99 → Etsy €154.99 24×32: €159.99 → Etsy €159.99 24×36: €169.99 → Etsy €169.99 So when I activate my 15% sale, Etsy seems to calculate/display the sale using the tax-inclusive pricing in the background while showing the unadjusted base price as the crossed-out price. For example, my 24×36 showed “Now €177.72” with €169.99 crossed out 🤦‍♀️ - making it look like the price actually went UP during the sale. I’ve also been having an issue where I can’t edit the prices or re-enable previously hidden size variations on these existing Etsy listings, even though I can edit things like the title. New listings pushed through PrintShrimp are receiving my updated base prices correctly. I’ve done Etsy’s recommended troubleshooting (cache/cookies etc.) and it hasn’t fixed it, and am still ongoing with Etsy customer service about this variation/tax display issue. If you’re using PrintShrimp with Etsy, especially if you’re running a sale, I’d definitely check your largest framed variations on the actual customer-facing listing. Has anyone else noticed this happening with the 20×30, 24×32 or 24×36 framed sizes, or found a fix?🩷

Digital listings
Just adding digital listings along side physical for the first time , do people add multiple ratios for each file Or just add 1 file A size ?

@Bart Tutaj thanks Bart! Yes I set it up as its own digital listing to keep it easy and added the high res file. What kind of price difference do you use for digital to physical ? I priced my first digital at 9.99 with my first physical sake at 19.99. Not sure if it’s to much or to cheap

@Bart Tutaj great thanks for that! my pricing is in euro but I’ll drop it now as the main point is to gain traction/sales!
Digital Downloads
Hi all - getting more and more requests for digital downloads recently. How does everyone do this: do you offer an option of all prints for £x, selected prints for £x etc. Not sure the best way to structure this!

Can someone confirm What kind of files you need to have when selling a digital download ? Requirements ? Is it just literally your computer file ?

@Mihai Volintiriu perfect thank you !
Physical + Digital?
I'm thinking about offering digital downloads alongside my physical prints in all of my Etsy listings. Is this a good idea, or are there any downsides I might be overlooking? I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with experience offering both. I'm considering it because a customer just asked if they could buy one of my designs as a digital download.

@Bart Tutaj hey do you add another variation for your digital downloads on the physical listing or create a separate listing on its own for the digital prints ?
Bulk Listing Software is LIVE!!
Hey guys, After a long time in development, we've launched a tool that fully automates the listing process on Etsy & Shopify :D This is a huge step towards making an Etsy store both easier and more accessible to start. Over the past 2 years we've printed over 150,000 posters, and every single one of them was listed to Etsy manually. So while this tool isn't required to build a successful Etsy shop, it really will help. This is because a successful Etsy store comes down to two things: 1. Creating high quality posters that deserve to be framed in someone's home 2. Listing high quality products at scale This software takes the listing off your plate, so you can focus on what matters - creating high quality products :) If you have any product feedback, or bugs please email us on [email protected] Max & Tom

When doing bulk listings does it push it to Etsy drafts or does it post it live ? Can you choose to post to drafts so you can drip feed later ?
