hi all
My name is Erin and I’m from Florida. I saw one of Dr. Stephanie’s instagram reels about lab work and I followed her, which is how I found this. I have struggled for a long time with weight cycling, hormonal acne, painful and unpredictable periods, and lots of vague but uncomfortable symptoms like muscle tension/tenderness and brain fog. I took the symptom decoder quiz and it looks like my top priority right now is insulin resistance. I am already trying to implement adjustments to my diet but this has been happening for so long that I really want to get a better idea of what is actually going on with me, and I’m excited to potentially get some answers along with solutions.

Hi @Erin L ! I am in Florida too :) happy to have you here! I can relate with having a lot of unknown symptoms and not getting any answers. I’m so glad you’re here! There’s a lot of good resources. I hope to see you inside my monthly office hours to offer more support!
What is the ONE thing a doctor has said to you that never sat right? đź’¬
We ask because we have heard a lot in this community. And some of it deserves to be said out loud. "Your labs are normal." "It's probably just stress." "This is what happens at your age." "Have you tried eating less?" "Have you considered that it might be anxiety?" We hear these from women who are clinically literate, who have done their research, who have been demonstrating careers and households while feeling like a diminished version of themselves. You were not wrong to push back. You were not being difficult. You were right that something was being missed. And the fact that you are in this community means part of you never stopped looking for the right answer. Drop yours below. One sentence. What is the thing that was said to you that you knew was not the full story?

When I experienced my first panic attack, i went to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. When I found out i was “okay”, i was given medicine to relax, told to make an appointment with my PCP, and sent on my way. When I see my PCP to tell her about my panic attack, she prescribed an anti-depressant without even asking me about my nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress levels, or even offering to run bloodwork. It was a huge red flag and i decided to get my bloodwork done with a more holistic doctor and found that my magnesium was low. Within 3 weeks of supplementing, my panic attacks stopped!
Hi
Hi! My name is Marsha and I am from Texas. I too saw one of Dr. Stephanie's ads on instagram and started following her. I have been struggling with digestive issues and hormonal issues and weight gain for over a year now. I am hoping to balance my hormones and fix my gut health to drop the weight gain and feel better.

Hi I'm Kelsey and I am in Central Illinois area. I am a Certified Mental Performance Coach. I came across this community from Dr. Stephanie's Instagram and found it curious. I immediately wanted to learn more. In the next 90 days, I would love to learn more about what is truly going on in my body and the root causes, not just the symptoms. Thank you :)

@Kelsey Burrows so happy you’re here! I love your “why”! It’s important to dig deeper and uncover what’s really going on in our bodies. There’s always so much more to learn!
Introduction
Hello. I’m Kitara, California native currently living in South Carolina. I am post menopausal and haven’t felt “normal” for several years. Menopause hit literally hot and heavy when I was also in the middle of being my mom’s full time caregiver. The mental and physical stress became too much and she now lives in a memory care residence, but my body is still in fight or flight, and I am currently on a suboptimal BHRT so I am not getting the full benefits of BHRT (will be changing soon). I had my dna tested to see where I stand with different markers like how my body eliminates toxins or if I store excess estrogen for example, but I am at the point where I feel extensive bloodwork is needed to pair that with the genetic markers to really help me customize a plan that is broad enough in real data to truly be effective. The end goal is I just want to feel good in my body again. Glad to be here.

Welcome @Kitara Wilson ! So happy to have you here. Diving deeper into more extensive lab work can really give us answers and the “why” behind our symptoms. Excited for you to keep uncovering the root cause!
