Hi everyone!
I’ve recently developed a bit of an obsession with learning sales. As it became clear this is the one skill I need to learn in order to share more of my gift, I started a community on Skool, and sales has been the area I’ve struggled with the most. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 17 and have sold all sorts of things, from clothes to tattoos. A few months ago, I decided to start selling high-ticket coaching programs. I’ve been working as a hypnotherapist for over six years, and I’m currently specialising in helping entrepreneurs with their financial thermostat and the results are showing up. That said, I’m still having some trouble serving myself. Until now, I was selling session by session, which feels like an endless race for leads. I now want to work with clients over longer periods and create deeper relationships. I’ve realised that my main issue is a lack of assertiveness. My therapist mindset often comes up and makes me empathetic rather than directive. I’ve been listening to sales audiobooks and really loved Brian Tracy’s work The Psychology of Selling and now The Art of Closing the Sale. On January 2nd, I made my first high-ticket sale, closing at $1,300. A few days ago, I almost closed a second sale at $4k; however, the prospect’s card got rejected (he even shared his screen to show it wasn’t possible). I’m currently booking 1–2 sales calls per week and averaging about 7 discovery calls. With my current schedule, I can take a maximum of five 1-hour calls and five 20-minute calls per week. I now feel confident in my pricing because from the free work I gave, three people raised their prices by 3–5x. That means my price point is already paid off before I even charge them. I also have sales calls coming up with two of them. My current strategy is to offer a free session, and then a few days later once they’ve had results there’s no resistance to booking a sales call. Glad to be here and looking forward to learning from all of you.
