Data loss with Chat.
Just sharing this as an FYI. I have been working with Chat for a couple of weeks on a novel. We struggled at first, but finally hit a good stride about halfway through and we have been rolling at about 8-10K a day with Chat writing initial draft and me rewriting it ever since. It was taking more effort than I thought it should, but we were still making excellent progress. Today I rewrote the last chapter, then uploaded it to Chat to get feedback on where there might be issues...as I've been doing all along. It kept locking up and I spent almost an hour, uploading the data several times and chat simply would not respond. I tried refresh and it did nothing, so I logged off and logged back in only to find the entire book had disappeared...everything after Jan 15th. Thank God, I was saving each chapter offline in Word, so I had it, but I lost all of the discussion, suggestions, and any other back and forth...completely gone. This means if I had lost that content earlier, he would have lost all continuity in the story. As it is, it is only one chapter worth of evaluation I lost Not a big deal. But this was all done in project folders. So what are project folders worth if you can lose an entire 54K novel? Be careful if you are writing in Chat...copy and save on another platform is your friend!!!

@Kayce Lassiter, I am the queen of back-ups - multiple back-ups. I worked in the legal field for over 20 years. This was before cloud storage, external hard drives, etc. But Rule #1 was always have a backup of every single piece of paper. OneDrive taught me that not all technology will save me or my work. Instead, it deleted everything. So I have banished OneDrive from my life. Had it not been for my external hard drive back-ups, I would have had a disaster on my hands. I say use whatever works, but be super careful if you use OneDrive. I'm really glad you had your back-ups. Losing all that work would have been worse than awful. ❤️

@Christie Bickelman Excellent idea
N8N Class!
Ok - letting everyone know that I am super excited about this class. NOTE - I do NOT use N8N for writing - I don't like it for that and find I spend too much time editing. So we will be discussing it creating a basic codex and outline (no it will not be like the ones I create - that is way too long and has over 40 prompt in it and is way overwhelming)...... but I was also thinking of having it create a 5 email sequence for us to launch a book or even add in creating marketing materials? Which is more important for you? I am waiting for some results from the Dr's office before I schedule the 3 classes and I believe these will be during the daytime vs evening for me as there might be a little less chaos in the house. Expect the schedule to be up by Thursday!

So, to double-check because it's 4:45 am, my brain is mush, and like @Jason Cahoon , I thought the dates were already set, is there a class tonight (Thursday, 02/05/26 @5 pm Eastern), or has that been postponed? Either way is fine. I just need to know where I'm supposed to be and when.

@Dana Sacco not a problem. I'm flexible as long as I know where I'm supposed to be and when. (Example: I was in a class at 4:00 am with you can guess who.) Take care of yourself first. The events on my calendar can be deleted and added with a click of my mouse. 😂
Valentine's Day Romance?
I'm going to take a page out of @Nicky Penttila book, 😉 and share my latest release I created using a codex/outline and NovelCrafter! The NC course REALLY helped and made this a much more seamless process. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GHPZ38LY

Some of you don't know First Drafts
So some of you do not know what First Drafts is and even being in here - I don't say a lot about it - but I'm sharing because of the new people and you'll hear "codex" "outline" and be thinking WTH are these crazy people talking about. In one of the courses (free) there is a "What a Codex & Outline" actually are... but you may be wondering where they are.... This weekend is a "drop" - I usually do these 2x per month. 1x is usually Chaos on Facebook and then the next one is Chaos on the website. 📊 How to Mine Your YouTube Analytics for Book Gold 💰
Yes - I asked Claude to review what I just did and create a post.... so it's whatever - but better than me typing it all out... Just did something cool with Claude that I wanted to share with you all... The Challenge: I wanted to figure out which book concepts would perform best on my YouTube audiobook channel AND align with current market trends. The Process: Step 1: Deep Dive into YouTube Analytics - Exported my channel performance data (views, watch time, CTR, engagement) - Identified patterns: which genres, tropes, and formats were crushing it - Found my surprise winners (some genres I didn't expect to dominate) Step 2: Cross-Reference with Market Data - Used my K-lytics genre reports (I have reports on 15+ genres) - Claude analyzed the intersection of MY audience's preferences + current market signals - Found the sweet spot between what's trending and what MY viewers actually consume Step 3: Concept Development - Asked Claude to generate 12 book concepts based on both data sets - Specified format: Title, Genre, Heat Level, 5 Tropes (comma-separated) - Got concepts that hit my proven winners while tapping into market demand The Results: 12 book concepts that are: ✅ Proven to resonate with my existing audience ✅ Aligned with current market trends ✅ Ready to develop with confidence (not just guessing) Key Takeaway: Your channel analytics are MARKET RESEARCH. If you're putting audiobooks on YouTube, you're sitting on data that tells you exactly what your audience wants. What You Need: - Your YouTube analytics (export to spreadsheet) - Genre market reports (K-lytics, Publisher Rocket, etc.) - Claude or another AI to help spot patterns The Magic: Combining YOUR data with MARKET data = concepts with built-in audiences Anyone else mining their platform analytics for book ideas? What's your process? 👇

I actually have a couple of YT channels (from a long time ago). Wonder if I can resurrect them like everything else I'm digging out? 🤔

@Dana Sacco if you had any idea of how much stuff I'm resurrecting, you'd think I own a graveyard - sort of like Merritt Vance. 😂
