(And if Sunday isn't your rest day, this applies to whatever day you choose to slow down and recharge!) Why Rest Isn't Lazyโ€”It's Essential Our culture glorifies being busy, but rest is when our bodies repair, our minds process, and our spirits rejuvenate. It's not selfishโ€”it's necessary for our health and happiness. What Rest Actually Does for You - Reduces stress hormones and inflammation - Boosts creativity and problem-solving - Strengthens your immune system - Improves mood and emotional balance - Helps you show up better for others Simple Ways to Embrace Rest - Sleep in without guilt - Read a book or take a nap - Enjoy slow meals with loved ones - Take a gentle walk or just sit outside - Do absolutely nothing and call it self-care My Sunday Tradition Sundays are sacred in my houseโ€”it's my day to rest, recharge, and be fully present with my family. No big plans, no pressure, just connection and peace. It sets me up to start the new week feeling refreshed instead of depleted. Permission to Rest You don't need to earn rest through productivity. You deserve it simply because you're human. Your worth isn't measured by your output. What does your ideal rest day look like? How do you like to recharge and connect with what matters most? Share your favorite ways to embrace rest in the comments below! Here's to the beautiful art of doing nothing and loving every minute of it. Wishing you a perfectly lazy and restorative Sunday! ๐Ÿ’คโœจ

๐Ÿ’• February's Herb of the Month: Rose Hips - Nature's Love Letters! ๐ŸŒน
Hello, beautiful community! Can you feel that February energy in the air? As we settle into the heart of winter and Valentine's Day reminds us to show ourselves some love, I'm absolutely thrilled to introduce you to February's Herb of the Month: Rose Hips! What Are Rose Hips? These gorgeous ruby-red treasures are literally the gifts that roses leave behind after their blooms have faded. Think of them as nature's way of saying "the beauty doesn't end when the petals fall" - how perfect is that for love month? ๐Ÿ’• Why I'm Obsessed With Rose Hips Here's something that'll blow your mind: ONE rose hip contains as much vitamin C as 40 oranges! During WWII, British children actually collected rose hips to make vitamin C syrup when citrus was scarce. Talk about resourceful plant wisdom! But it's not just about the vitamin C (though that's pretty amazing for winter immune support). Rose hips are like little love notes from nature, packed with: - Heart-supporting antioxidants - Skin-glowing nutrients - Natural anti-inflammatory compounds - A gentle, nurturing energy that feels like a warm hug A Little Rose Hip Magic I love that rose hips remind us that even after the showy, Instagram-worthy blooms are gone, there's still incredible value and beauty to be found. Sometimes the most nourishing gifts come after the flashy moments have passed - kind of like real love, right? What's Coming This Month I'm so excited to dive deep into rose hips with you! We'll explore: - The most delicious ways to use these vitamin powerhouses - How to make your own immune-supporting rose hip syrup - The beautiful folklore and traditions surrounding roses - Simple ways to incorporate rose hips into your self-love routine - And so much more plant wisdom! Ready to Go Deeper? If you're a premium member, head over to our classroom where I've shared the complete Rose Hip guide - everything from preparation methods to growing tips, safety info, and the full story behind these amazing winter treasures!

Tuesday Tea Time Trivia: Winter Wellness Blend + The Perfect Water Temperature
Welcome to Winter Wellness! This week we're featuring a cozy immune-supporting blend perfect for the cold season, PLUS we're diving into one of the most important (and often overlooked) aspects of tea brewingโ€”water temperature! Getting this right can make or break your tea experience. Meet This Week's Blend: Winter Guardian Tea This warming, protective blend features elderberry, ginger, cinnamon, echinacea, and rosehips. It's designed to support your immune system, warm you from the inside out, and keep you resilient through cold and flu season! Herb Spotlight: - Elderberry (Sambucus nigra):These dark purple berries are packed with antioxidants and have been used for centuries to support immune function. Elderberry is especially helpful during the winter months for shortening the duration and severity of colds. - Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale):Warming and circulation-stimulating, ginger helps your body fight off invaders while soothing sore throats and settling upset stomachs. It's also anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. - Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamomum spp.):This sweet, warming spice supports circulation, helps regulate blood sugar, and adds antimicrobial properties to your blend. Plus, it tastes like winter comfort in a cup! - Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea):Known as the "immune herb," echinacea stimulates white blood cell activity and helps your body mount a strong defense against seasonal challenges. - Rosehips (Rosa canina):These vitamin C-rich fruits support immune function and add a pleasant tart flavor. They're also packed with antioxidants to protect your cells during winter stress. Benefits of the Winter Guardian Blend This blend works on multiple levels to keep you healthy all winter long. The warming herbs (ginger, cinnamon) improve circulation and help you stay cozy, while the immune-supporting herbs (elderberry, echinacea, rosehips) strengthen your body's natural defenses. It's both preventative and supportive if you're already feeling under the weather.

I use an electric tea kettle to heat up my water. I have a stainless steel pot with strainer that I put my herbs in and pour the heated water over to steep. As far as your questions...C and B.
Fun Fact Friday
Happy Friday, beautiful souls! Let's end the week with something wonderfully relaxing: "The Benefits of Herbal Baths: A Relaxing Ritual." And don't worry if you don't have a bathtub or prefer showers (like me!)โ€”I'll share how you can still enjoy all these benefits with a simple herbal foot soak! Why Herbal Baths Are So Healing Herbal baths combine the therapeutic benefits of warm water with the healing properties of plants. The heat opens your pores, allowing your skin to absorb the herbs' beneficial compounds while the aromatic steam provides aromatherapy benefits. It's like giving your whole body a gentle, healing hug! Amazing Benefits of Herbal Baths - Reduce stress and calm the nervous system - Soothe sore muscles and joints - Improve circulation - Support skin health and healing - Promote better sleep - Provide natural aromatherapy - Create a mindful self-care ritual Best Herbs for Bathing ~ Lavender - The ultimate relaxation herb, perfect for evening baths and better sleep ~ Chamomile - Gentle and soothing, great for sensitive skin and calming anxiety ~ Epsom Salt + Rosemary - Relieves muscle tension and energizes the mind ~ Rose Petals - Luxurious and heart-opening, wonderful for self-love rituals ~ Calendula - Healing for irritated or damaged skin ~ Peppermint - Cooling and refreshing, perfect for hot days or tired feet How to Make an Herbal Bath 1. Fill a muslin bag or clean sock with 1/4 to 1/2 cup dried herbs 2. Tie it securely and hang under the faucet as you fill the tub 3. Let the hot water run through the herbs to create your herbal "tea" 4. Soak for 15-20 minutes and enjoy! No Bathtub? No Problem! Try a Foot Soak Since I only have a shower, I've become a huge fan of herbal foot soaks! They're just as relaxing and offer many of the same benefits: 1. Fill a large bowl or basin with warm water 2. Add your herbal blend (or a strong herbal tea you've brewed separately) 3. Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes while reading, meditating, or just relaxing 4. The warm water and herbs will still help you unwind and the aromatherapy benefits are amazing!

@April Johnson thanks... it probably won't be until at least spring before I take that venture. I need to start sour dough bread first.

@April Johnson I joined a sour bread group in hopes that I could learn how and get encouragement but it doesn't appear to be a very active group.
