Certifications
After going through Dave’s course, would you recommend obtaining any AI industry certifications from Microsoft or Google? Has anyone found if that helps when job hunting? I figured actual projects will be important too and to get some stuff on our GitHub?

@Shane Tillitt no I haven’t taken the paid course. I am going through the free courses available on this site.

@Kevin Kuciapinski thanks I’ll check it out, I didn’t know Amazon was a big player in AI offering LLMs to the public.
AI Replacing Jobs
I had just read an article that Zuck is planning to replace jobs for people who are performing the privacy and integrity reviews at Meta. This is also after he announced plans to replace mid level software engineers with AI. This got me thinking about the long term implications. Eventually when the senior guys retire, who will have the talent to fill those gaps? If people are needed to train the LLMs, who will have that subject matter expertise? Curious on your thoughts of how this plays out. https://www.npr.org/2025/05/31/nx-s1-5407870/meta-ai-facebook-instagram-risks
Data Alchemy Book Club
Here's a place where we can recommend books about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science that we have read and think it can be useful for others to know about them. That's a place for everyone so suggestions and improvement tips are welcomed. Rules: - One entry per book. Opinions and comments on the replies. Let's keep the post as clear as possible. - Make sure that your book isn't listed before you post it. - Name the book properly: Title, author/s, editor, year of publishing and language (when not in English). If you know the ISBN or other references, feel free to add them. - Give your review. - Enjoy. Notes: I still don't know how to pin messages nor other options posts may have, so a list of posted books is not possible yet. I may edit this entry to modify whatever needs a change, so keep an eye at it.

Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach By Peter Norvig ISBN: 978-1292401133 Published: 2021 It covers some of the theory and practice of artificial intelligence and some key concepts such as intelligent agents, machine learning, problem-solving, natural language processing, robotics, and ethical considerations. I thought it did a pretty good job between the theory and real-world applications. Give this a like if you also read it and leave a comment with your thoughts.

I’m getting a Not Found, am I doing something wrong?
Apple's article "The Illusion of Thinking" and what it can mean.
I have seen in some social network a post about the article The Illusion of Thinking (https://ml-site.cdn-apple.com/papers/the-illusion-of-thinking.pdf) made by Apple interns after testing a selection of AI models on reasoning problems and had me thinking. What do you think about the article? Does it point out good points? Are we further or closer than we think to AGI and other AI goals? What can that mean in terms of evolution in the AI sector? Did you know about the LRMs?

I had read some of that and it seems that while AI may be great at automating repetitive tasks, the current capabilities aren’t going to replace people anytime soon. However, that hasn’t stopped some companies from trying to replace software engineers with AI only to backtrack. https://m.economictimes.com/magazines/panache/instant-karma-employer-who-replaced-his-tech-team-with-ai-asks-for-new-developers-on-linkedin-heres-what-happened-next/amp_articleshow/116625826.cms
