19 months of consecutive recovery form drugs
Tonight i officially Made 19 consecutive Months Clean from All Hard Drugs I've been fighting a long battle with severe clinical depression, bordering personality disorder traumatic memories, flashbacks, anxiety attacks, and night terrors etc since I was 14. In a desperate attempt to find solace, I turned to substance use drugs and sometimes alcohol to dull the pain and momentarily feel better. This has been my journey from 2017 to 2023 My world was turned upside down in Sept 2021 when I lost my son. I struggled to cope with the pain and turned to substance abuse and alcohol. This took a toll on my mental health, leading to multiple hospitalizations and stays in mental health housing. Despite the support, I continued to struggle and found myself homeless in 2022. I settled into a toxic living situation to avoid homelessness, but eventually found myself back on the streets, battered and struggling with addiction. Hitting rock bottom in 2023, I checked into a psychiatric ward and began to rebuild. With their care, I started to heal and even found a comfortable apartment near the hospital. November of 2023, I had a terrifying experience that could have ended in tragedy. I overdosed, lost consciousness, and was administered two doses of NARCAN to revive me. At the hospital, a nurse informed me that my drug levels were extremely high, putting me at risk of alcohol poisoning. What's more, I had arrived at the hospital by ambulance, alone, which sent me into an emotional spiral, making me realize just how close I came to losing my life to addiction. My journey with addiction has been long and challenging, but meeting my now ex boyfriend online marked a turning point. His concern for my well-being and faith in my ability to change inspired me to start my recovery journey in December 2023. Since December My journey towards healing and recovery has been challenging, but I'm proud to say that I've made tremendous progress. I've been living in my own townhouse for over a year now, and I've been clean from hard substances and sober from alcohol and self-harm for over 18 months. I'm committed to continuing this journey and finding healthier ways to cope with my emotions. The healing process has been a peculiar progression, filled with unexpected twists and turns. As I navigate the challenges of getting and staying clean and sober, I'm reminded of the importance of perseverance. Losing a child is one of the most painful experiences I've ever faced, but I continue to push forward, driven by my love for my angel son and my commitment to my own well-being. We Do Recover One Day At A Time All Day Everyday Just For Today Process I Recover Out Loud Because I Almost Died Silently Myself

The Gifts Keep Coming - Even in Grief 💙
Last week, my best friend Catherine - my best best best best best best best best best friend Catherine - lost her mom. And I need to share something with you about what recovery really means, especially in the hardest moments. I remember this pain that Catherine is feeling. I remember when my mother-in-law passed away, and this feeling that she's going through has to be so much worse. I know she's in a world of hurt right now. She doesn't know what to do, doesn't know where to turn. She doesn't know whether to yell, scream, cry, be quiet, talk, or be happy - because you just don't know what to do. You can't be happy, but you can't be sad either. But here's what I'm so honored to tell you: I got to be there. When Catherine called and needed someone to take her to the hospital - not once, but twice - I was clean and sober. There was no hesitation. "Yes, I can take you as soon as I get out of work. I'll be there. You can stay as long as you want." When we got there and Catherine said "you can come up and see her," there was no hesitation. When her mom saw me and said "hi Lynn," I got to say goodbye to her mom sober. I got to say goodbye to my best friend's mom because I got sober. The gifts just keep coming and I just keep winning. But I'm so sad for Catherine because I know she's just in for it right now. This is the hard part. This is the part that took me down. This is the part I couldn't do well, that I didn't do well. This is the part I don't have an answer for, and I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to help her with. I've always had an answer for Catherine. I'm scared that I'm not gonna be able to answer her this time because I didn't do this part very good. But I'm gonna try, because recovery has taught me a lot of things. I know that we can do this together. We can get through this together, and we're going to. I'm just so grateful that I got to be part of the end of her mom's life. I got to say goodbye. I got to be there. I got to be a part of it. I get to be a part of it because of my choices.

Couldn’t agree more! It’s tough but we get to be there because we are called for a higher purpose (in my opinion)! Also, doesn’t matter what you say to her to try to comfort her - she will remember your presence, not the words. 💞
Introduction Time!!!
Welcome to the Keep Going Movement! I'm Lynn Ellen, and my recovery journey began on May 8, 2023. To say the last seven years of my life before that were messy would be an understatement. I went from being a housewife with four children and a busy schedule to losing everything to crack cocaine addiction. But that's not where my story ends - it's where my mission began. During my early recovery, I found myself making a simple bracelet with two words that kept pulling me through: "Keep Going." Every time I looked down at my wrist and saw those words, they gave me the strength to push forward, no matter what challenges I faced. Today, I'm a proud mom rebuilding relationships with my four children, including my oldest who didn't speak to me for three years but now has an amazing relationship with me. I get my hair done every Monday (because self-care matters!), and I hand-make and distribute over 300 "Keep Going" bracelets monthly to people who need that same reminder that kept me going. My style is boho, my heart is full of hope, and my mission is clear: to share the message that recovery is possible. I might have seen the darkest sides of addiction, including violence and loss, but I choose to focus on the light of recovery and the promises that come true when you just keep going. Through this community, I want to create a space where we can: - Support each other's recovery journeys - Share the power of the Keep Going message - Create and distribute bracelets to those who need hope - Build a movement of strength and possibility - Show others that recovery is possible Join me every morning for coffee and connection as we build this community together. Whether you're in recovery, supporting someone who is, or just need the reminder to keep going, you're in the right place. Remember, no matter what life throws at you, all you have to do is keep going forward. With hope and determination, Lynn Ellen Founder, Keep Going Movement www.keepgoingwithlynnellen.com
