Day 1: The Mental Narrator That's Running Your Business Entrepreneurs, here's a reality check that'll change how you operate: Your mind talks ALL THE TIME because you gave it a job - to protect you from reality. Think about it. You walk into a property and immediately your mind starts: - "This neighborhood's sketchy" - "The numbers don't look right" - "What if the seller's hiding something?" - But here's what's really happening: You're experiencing your MENTAL MODEL of reality, not reality itself. The FLPPD Truth Bomb: Your mind narrates everything to make you feel in control. It takes the raw experience of walking through a house and creates a story that fits your past experiences and future fears. Real Estate Example: - You feel cold air → Mind says "Poor insulation, this'll be expensive" - You already FELT the cold air. Why does your mind need to tell you about it? - Because it's trying to control your experience by making it fit a familiar pattern. The Liberation: What if you just experienced the house WITHOUT the mental commentary? You'd be more present, notice details you'd miss, and make decisions from clarity instead of mental noise. Today's Challenge: Next time you're at a property (or anywhere or even if it's not real estate related), catch yourself when the mind starts narrating what you're already experiencing. Ask: "Am I living in reality or in my mental story about reality?" The Power Move: Remember - you're not the voice creating the story. You're the one AWARE of the voice. That awareness is your superpower. P.S. This week has been a mental challenge as well... For some reason the Transformer in the A/C at our office decided to go on vacation early so it's been HOT!! Anyway thank goodness for the Winter Months coming but I did get the A/C taken care of as well. Also I will probable record a Video on this as well because I've been thinking everyone is dealing with that little person on the inside of their mind that's either propelling yourself forward or holding you back.
