What a journey.
I’ve started playing in a Sunday league and today I scored my first goal in two years (since injuring ACL, MCL, Meniscus in September 2023). Man… what a feeling to be back doing what I love and having fun. Best of all I can’t tell a difference between my uninjured side to my injured side. Grateful to be apart of this community, and knowing that the lessons taught in this program have set me up for success. Hope you all are crushing it!
What a journey.
First Pickup Game Since Sep 2023
Played in my first pickup game yesterday since I tore my ACL/meniscus in September 2023. It was a battle in my mind of being scared/nervous while being out on the pitch for the first time. Definitely still some trauma there from when I got injured. But… I reminded myself I’ve put in the work and my knee is capable of performing at high levels again. My nerves started to ease and I had a lot of fun playing again. I even scored twice and played well! Still a lot of work to be done, but I’m making progress.

Hard Work - Pays Off Over Time
All the hard work I’ve put in to come back better, stronger, and faster is finally paying off. It’s in moments like these—back on the field, kicking the ball around, running 10-yard flys—when you really feel the progress. I’m not quite at 100% yet, but I’m getting close. Hope you’re out there crushing it too!

My Story
Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to share a bit about my journey post-ACL reconstruction and how much this coaching program has made a difference for me. In November 2023, I had ACL reconstruction using a patellar tendon autograft and started with the traditional rehab route. Things were progressing slowly but steadily until about three months in when I did a single-leg quad isometric test. At the time, I didn’t realize this type of test could aggravate the patellar tendon, especially if it had been used for the graft. Unfortunately, this led to severe patellar tendon pain that lasted 2–3 weeks and marked the beginning of my battle with patellar tendinitis. Even after that setback, I stuck with traditional rehab because it was covered by insurance. While I made small gains here and there, the patellar tendon pain never went away—it was always lingering in the background. By the 10-month mark, I still wasn’t where I wanted to be, so I knew I needed to try something different. That’s when I found Zak and joined this program. I started working with Zak in September 2024 and immediately saw great progress. I committed to putting in the work daily, and it started paying off. For the first time, I felt like I was really moving in the right direction. Unfortunately, I made a poor choice in October and decided to revisit my old rehab therapist to complete their testing so they could officially release me. They pushed me harder on the single-leg quad test, and, once again, I ended up with significant patellar tendon pain—this time bad enough to sideline me for a couple of months. When the pain finally subsided, I doubled down on Zak’s program. I even invested in a push-pull sled to use at home. This past week, I’ve been hitting workouts hard, and the results have been incredible. My knee feels stronger, and for the first time, my patellar tendon pain has significantly decreased. Traditional rehab never helped with the pain—if anything, it made things worse. Zak’s program has been the only thing that’s truly worked.
