Want to work as a Bussiness Developer!
Hey everyone! I’m looking for clear guidance on how to get started on Upwork, attract clients, and effectively outsource projects as I grow. I’m currently stuck at the initial stage and would really appreciate advice on: - Setting up a strong Upwork profile - Building an initial portfolio, even with limited experience - Winning my first few clients - Scaling by outsourcing work while maintaining quality I’d love to hear proven strategies, tips, or personal experiences that can help me build a solid foundation and grow successfully. I dont want to provide any skill but outsource it. Thanks in advance!
Selecting a Skill!
AI Agents (Agentic AI) Video Editing Both look super cool, both have huge potential, and I enjoy both. But realistically… which one should I focus on first? Or should I just learn both [ (focus more towards one like, Ai agent as my bread & butter, and video editing my hobby stuff so that i can make videos for my insta and YouTube, maybe i get viral ;) ] Ai is quite growing and easy to enter! Where should I learn from? Paid programs? Free YouTube? Or should I just jump straight into real projects, build skill through practice, and then start hunting for clients? And one more thing — will this community support me in finding clients on Upwork/Fiverr once I have the skills? Or is it all on me? Would love genuine opinions. 🙏🔥
I’m So Confused About Life Right Now…
Lately, I honestly don’t know what I’m doing. I feel like I’m putting my hands into too many things at once — Etsy, freelancing, university, even real estate. I’m 21, and everyone tells me this is the age to try different things but some say stick to one thing, it’s just a mix!!!… and I am trying. I’ve been trying since I was 17. But the truth is: I keep backing out early. I lose motivation fast. And when I don’t see results, I get demotivated even more. Because of this, I can’t focus properly — not on studies, not on my physical health, not on anything consistently. I’m not asking for a full plan… just a little guidance. Just a hint. I think I’m sensible enough to understand the rest. Maybe this is that age where you want to do everything and become successful quickly, or at least start seeing something move in the right direction. If anyone can genuinely tell me where I’m going wrong, what I’m doing right, or how to balance all this — I’d appreciate it a lot. I feel like i am getting lazy! Avoiding stuff that i used to be excited about at first! I have so many ideas in mind and i know i have unfair advantage and i can execute it but every time my thing what if its good to put hands in it!! — AZ

@Talha Ahmed I really like AI and automation — it seems interesting and suits me. I also tried getting into SEO, but honestly it felt boring at first, although I did start getting a little interested in it later. That’s my issue: I keep jumping from one thing to another. Video editing also attracts me because I imagine myself doing filmmaking and creating cool edits. Like i can spend time doing video editing and animation and wont stress on it, i would enjoy it, but i dont have a roap map for it. Plus Etsy is something which is passive so that's not a skill but a bussiness. What do you suggest — where should I focus, and how should I start? What direction would be best for me?

@Mubashira Baig Thank you so much, sister. Yes, I completely understand your point and I agree with you — I should first focus on something that gives me a consistent monthly income. After that, I can move on to building something valuable, like my dream project… maybe opening an office, getting into real estate properly, starting a software house, or even a renovation firm. But for all that, I obviously need money first. What do you suggest? How should I start? And how can I get into Upwork in a way where I focus mainly on bringing clients and then outsource the actual work to people who have the skills? Basically, so we can work as a team and I don’t have to stress about fulfilling every technical task myself — my job would be client acquisition.

Coming
Need Guidance! (New Here!)
Hey everyone! I’m Ahmad, and I’m really excited to join this community. My main goal is to become financially independent and build something meaningful, not just for myself, but for the people around me as well. I’m ready to invest the time and put in consistent effort. Right now, I feel the best path for me is to learn how to use Upwork properly, especially bidding, getting clients, managing projects, and outsourcing work by partnering with skilled people. As a complete newbie to this space, I’d really appreciate your sincere guidance: - What skills should I learn first? - What videos or resources in this community should I start with? - And is it helpful to start writing a daily journal from now? Looking forward to learning, contributing, and growing with all of you. Thank you! 🙌✨
