Hello everyone on this thread initiated by Ali. An online teacher I would highly recommend is Steve Gregg whose website is thenarrowpath.com. His series called "When shall these things be" under topical lectures would be a good place to start on Christ's return and the end times. He is articulate and fair-minded in discussing all the different viewpoints and interpretations. He is easy to listen to and not bombastic nor does he insist that his position is the right one. He endeavours to give a clear biblical perspective on things with room for us to disagree with one another on matters that are ambiguous. His whole website is chockfull of good material to listen to as you explore it. He also has a you tube channel. He lives by faith and never asks for donations for himself. All the content on his website is free for downloading. The Lord bless you all and be gracious to you all according to His great lovingkindness.
Latest Epstein files release
Hey everyone I logged into my X account earlier and my feed is just full of these latest file dumps and there are some shocking and horrific things in it. It seems like power structures across the entire planet, from the very top echelons right down even to local councils are infested by people who are utterly depraved. The initial shock of seeing some of these awful files has me questioning how we can live normal, good and honest lives when we are surrounded by all this evil. Then it occurred to me that I pray almost daily for discernment and now it makes me wonder, are these latest files deliberately dropped now for some reason? Why now and not months ago? Are they to distract us from something else going on? It's such a confusing time where I am questioning everything and trusting in very little. Has anyone else been diving into this latest scandal? What's your thoughts on it?

Yes Sophie, you are indeed discerning. THEY are keeping us divided and distracted on all fronts. That's how they plan to win but in the end they won't. We must be Vigilant, Discerning, Alert, Prepared, Steadfast and Faithful. With regard to our society, both political and social corruption is rampant. It is so profuse that we can barely keep our heads above water - we are drowning in a swamp of lies and deception. The only way we can survive and even thrive is bathing in the pure waters of the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Our devotion to God's Word and our reliance on God's indwelling Spirit is the only thing that will preserve us and help us overcome the corrupted, malignant world in which we live. Our own hearts will be changed by the power of God's Word and God's Indwelling Spirit.
An honest update
Hey everyone - I owe you an explanation for why I've been quiet the past few weeks. I've been in this VERY STRANGE mental fog that's hard to put into words. It's like everything I normally do - posting, creating content, engaging - suddenly feels like I'm trying to push through a wall. The passion's still there. The desire's still there. But as far accessing it, it's been a real struggle... I've been praying through it, had others pray with me, trying to understand what exactly this is. Maybe it's spiritual. Maybe it's a mental thing. Maybe it's both?? AHonestly, I'm still working it out. But here's why I'm sharing this: I don't want you thinking I've abandoned this community or lost heart in what we're building. That couldn't be further from the truth. And if I'm being real, I'm curious if anyone else has ever experienced something like this before - where your mind and body just seem to hit pause even though your heart's still fully engaged. If you have, I'd genuinely appreciate ANY and ALL feedback of your experience and how you overcame it. In the meantime, please don't let my silence stop you from posting, encouraging each other, and keeping this community alive. That's what we're here for - to sharpen and support one another. I LOVE YOU ALL. I'm working through this. And I'm grateful you're here.

@MKUehn Billhole Good question MK. We need to read the Bible as much as we can with an open curiosity and a critical mind. We need to study, memorize and meditate on Scripture continually and prayerfully. Good Bible Study is composed of (1) Observation of the biblical text. (2) Interpretation of that text. (3) Application of the said text. It requires us to ask the well known questions: Who - What - When - Where - Why - How? Context is crucial. Is a certain statement "descriptive" or "prescriptive" [commanded of us]? Is the scripture literal or figurative. We can be dogmatic on clear and concise things but less dogmatic on stuff that are less clear and less concise or obvious. For example we can be dogmatic on the deity of Jesus and his death and resurrection. But we need to be less dogmatic on the specifics of Jesus' second coming because there are three interpretive grids: premillennialism, postmillennialism, and amillennialism. I happen to be amillennial now in my approach but I don't insist on this view as dogmatically as Christ's deity. I am very dogmatic about the reality that Jesus is coming back a second time in glory for judgment and bring this world to an end but HOW that will take place is up for good debate. So I'm less dogmatic on the HOW. And we should read good books or talk to pastors about certain interpretations, besides reading the Bible on our own. It will expand our horizons giving us ideas we may never have thought of. For example, I believe that Calvinism is not truly biblical, because I don't see that being taught in the Bible. Calvinists will defend their view with Scripture but I believe it is a wrong interpretive grid they use. "Once saved always saved" is not biblical. People can and do deny Christ after being Christians for a while. Jesus said that whoever denies me, God will deny in the day of judgment. So I think will leave it there for now. So much more can be said but not in posts like we are doing here. The Lord be with you.

@Samantha King Samantha I admire your plucky boldness in pursuing and standing for the truth. Bless you. May the Lord clearly give you the words to say in the moment you need with others. The western church is indeed "neutered" and powerless as you've said. Our reliance on God's Word and God's Spirit will become more evident as our world gets darker and more difficult to live in. The Lord reigns. Being prayerful is also key.
The Abortion Delusion
The Abortion Delusion: What is it exactly? It is the belief that abortion is good for society and that it is a human right—that mothers can kill their own children, and because it is their body that it is their choice. A society that kills its children—a people that murders their own progeny is doomed to destruction by the hand of God. It is their inevitable end—their ill-fated demise. Mothers and fathers who slaughter their innocent, unborn babies believing it is their right and their duty are beyond the pale in a God-fearing world. The deception is powerful and runs deeper that we think—discernment is nowhere to be found, even in some churches and among some Christians. The illusion of the propriety of infanticide, the illusion of the correctness of abortion is just that, an evil illusion—one that rests upon us like a heavy morning fog that never lifts, and lingers all day long. The delusion is strong—but the illusion itself is a fragile one. Common sense can smell its foul odour and detect its feeble fabrications for what they really are. And many Holy Spirit-filled believers have exposed this unholy alliance between men and the devil. The perpetrators of this wicked scheme and this evil deed have sold their souls to the devil. This secular society lies profusely to justify its actions and to ease its conscience. It’s a devilish brew—a demonic concoction that we have been forced to drink and which most of the population have swallowed without giving it a second thought, just like they’ve done with the false covid and vaccine narratives over the last five years. The abortion delusion, that is child sacrifice, now gives way to child molestation and child torture. Pedophilia, sexual immorality of any kind, and transgender medical procedures are now the rage—and the populace either defends it or they remain silent. However, being silent is not an option. The confrontation of evil and the resistance of wickedness in our midst is mandated to us by God. As Christians and as Churches we stand up and speak out against it clearly and unequivocally because we fear God not men. We will not be shamed into silence or to inaction. We will not be duped into believing their lies and into practicing violence. We will not follow in the way of Balaam which was greed—the love of money. We will not follow in the way of Cain which was violence—the act of killing. We will not follow in the way of Korah which was idolatry—the defiance of God who has created mankind in His image. Instead, we treasure every human being, born and unborn, because unlike animals we carry the image of God. From our creation onward we are meant to multiply the earth with our progeny not to massacre our offspring. Whatever God has told us to do, the devil will always deceive us into believing its opposite. It’s that simple. Women and children are to be protected not molested.
Bread, Spectacle, and Allegiance: Why Rome Feared the Early Church
Most people think Rome persecuted early Christians because Rome hated religion. That's not really what was going on. Rome had room for religion. Rome was drowning in gods. Temples, shrines, festivals, sacrifices, household idols. The issue was not that Christians had beliefs. The issue was allegiance. Rome could tolerate private faith. What it could not tolerate for long was a public people whose highest loyalty did not belong to the state. Now, to feel why that mattered, you have to picture how Rome held the crowd together. They used a rhythm. A system. Keep people fed, and not just fed, but fed for free. Grain distributions meant survival was tied to the system. Life stayed smoother if you stayed compliant. It quieted unrest without needing soldiers on every corner. Then keep people entertained. Games, festivals, spectacle. Loud enough to drown out reflection. Then keep desire active. Always something to crave next. Status, pleasure, comfort, approval. Keep people chasing. Keep them busy. Busy people do not ask big questions. And wrap all of it in ritual so participation feels normal, not forced. Altars. Processions. Public sacrifices. Honor the emperor. Not because everyone believed deeply, but because participation was the signal. It told the empire, I belong. I'm safe. I'm one of us. That's how you manage millions. Not by persuading every individual, but by shaping the crowd. Then Christ broke the rhythm. The gospel did not just give people new opinions. It moved the center. It rewired loyalty. And once loyalty shifts, it shows up in public. It changes what you do. What you refuse. What you will not say just to keep life easy. Because Rome's religion was not just spiritual. It was an economy. Temples moved money. Festivals moved commerce. Idols had supply chains. Craftsmen made statues. Vendors sold offerings. Trade groups often had ritual meals and offerings tied to the gods, and participation could affect your reputation and your ability to work. So when Christians stopped bowing, they also stopped buying.

So well said, articulately written Tre. An anointed message--your first post. Now we need to make the application to our day--the similarities of Rome's tactics and the Global Elites of today are uncanny during this Covid era with its cancel culture. What came to mind was what Jesus said to his disciples--"“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28 A blessed New Year to you and your family. Sophie and Ali also hit the nail on the head with their comments.
