Jaw clenching
Hey all, just wondering if anyone is suffering with jaw clenching(bruxism) when on meds? And have you found anything that helps with it please? I’ve got a gum shield(Amazon one) as I’ve not been able to get to the dentist yet,I’ve had Botox. Still trying to figure out what might make it worse, but in the meantime I’m back to blowing bubbles off my tongue, which stops me from clenching.

For me I noticed hydration is massive to prevent this. I have it whilst concentrating in meetings or reading. I usually find I have missed out water or food intake to make a meeting or gone down a rabbit hole and not drank or eaten enough.

@Dean Hugman yeah I find food can be an issue, as have the loss of appetite. I was advised to prioritise protein, so been having a lot eggs/omelettes, that may help? Caffeine intake was another one, I used to smash coffee and if I go back to old habbits that can have an affect. It settled down for me, but on busy days, I am not as mindful and this can reappear, then I resort to chewing gum if bad. I kept notes of good days and bad, to notice what I did differently, that might help as I noticed I wasn't drinking or eating enough, even though it felt like I had, only when looking on a note/tracker I realised.
Yes to ADHD meds or No to ADHD meds
Hello Tribe, Finally got my diagnosis letter today after 9 week wait! At time said no to meds. However I’m now wondering about them. So what is the tribes experiences?

Hello @Craig Skelland , similar to you I initially said no to do some research. After taking the time, it took months to finally receive medication and that period was tough as went through a lot of processing etc! The medication definitely helped with dealing with internal stuff at this point and was considerably noticeable. Best advice I can give if you do decide to take them, is keep a journal of the positives and negatives. This helps adjust your dose and also remind you of the positives, when/if you go through difficult times. I am currently on 70mg Elvanse, they started me off lower and then build me up to this point which seems to work. For me the positives were; my self critic quietened considerably, a lot more productive, more present at home, less procastrination, able to build some consistency and have more self confidence to put myself out there. It isn't a cure, it just gives me that boost to process and deal with stuff in a better way. The side effects mostly went away after building up to the higher dose. Although still notice some if I don't look after myself properly (however some are more likely ADHD traits tbf lol). Just remember you can always change your mind if you need to and do whatever is best for you. Best of luck!
