HRT- Too high or too low?!
A little bit about me- early 40’s, perimenopausal for years and recently began HRT in August of 2025. I’m on the estrogen patch and oral bioidentical progesterone. How do I know if my dosage is too high or too low? 🤔 My provider’s guidelines is to prescribe based on my symptoms alone. What are the symptoms if estrogen is too high or low; and if progesterone is too high or low? I’m starting to not trust my body and question everything. 😢 My PCP recommended doubling my estrogen dosage and I got mild headaches almost daily and felt more moody than usual. I also doubled the progesterone as prescribed and couldn’t sleep like the previous dosage. I normally take my progesterone during the day since it causes me to feel anxious and not sleepy at all. I got tired of sleepless night and rely on magnesium glycinate. How long should you try a dosage before it feels unbearable or worse? It feels like hormone medication is an experimental game. I’ve never had a journey like this before and feel overwhelmed when I’ve got other health conditions to manage (e.g., constipation, acid reflux, joint pain, and orthopedic injuries). Help!!! ❤️🤷‍♀️
