How I Reactivated My Restricted Capital One Card
My card got restricted after multiple failed bookings on Capital One Travel. That pattern looks like fraud, especially for NRAs. What happened: - Fraud team asked for US ID → I explained I’m NRA - Uploaded passport + local ID (this alone didn’t fix it) - They called back and went deep: Which hotels? Prices? Exact room types? I couldn’t remember everything, had to call back prepared. They’re not just verifying identity, they’re matching your answers to transaction data. If you don’t align, you risk shutdown. Result:Answered accurately → restriction lifted. Takeaways: - This is behavioral verification, not just documents - Your activity becomes your “password” - Travel bookings + multiple attempts = high risk - NRA = stricter scrutiny Advice: - Don’t spam retries - Keep track of what you’re booking (including room category and price) - Prepare before calling fraud team

@Abdulrahman Mohamed thats common with their error msg style. Its kinda vague or very broad and often dont wanna state the exact reason what happened.

Schwab Intl Brokerage acconut - problem with checking
I have a Schwab international brokerage account that works nice for stocks etc. Problem with their checking account is that it's one account for receiving funds and another one for the actual checking account. When trying to verify via Plaid it doesn't work... Then next step usually is that they send two small deposits to verify I am the account owner for direct debits. This doesn't work since the checking account can not receive money.. Anyone know of any solution? I have not yet received my ITIN so this is the only US account I have so far.

@Carl Johansson yeah that is exactly how it was in my case. Yeah the other way it works for me as well, so you just pull to schwab inside schwab instead of push in the other bank.
How to get a good IP profile from abroad and avoid ban?
Residential ISP → Currently using IPRoyal but the IP is flagged as VPN - seems to be working for Paypal/AMEX for now but my capital one account just got banned, not sure if it can be a cause Mobile Proxy → Tried Oxylabs/Brightdata - clean IP profile but they don’t allow bank website access Roaming from US Sim → It may show a local IP - I tried with Tello from China and it showed a US IP so this option may work, not sure if it's always a US IP VPS/RDR seems to be the only option but difficult to target a city, pricy, complicated and not convenient

@A Vas you mean with 6 months having these accounts or 6 months of ITIN history?
Chase and BofA experiences in San Francisco
Hi everyone, I am currently in San Francisco, and tried to open a Chase and BofA checking account today. The Chase experience was disappointing. The banker wasn't very enthusiastic and friendly, but the worst part was that the American address that i used as a residential address (It shows up as non CRMA in both Smartly and USPS) was rejected by the Chase system, because Chase used to have a branch downstairs ! (It is a tall office building ) I was very disappointed as i really wanted to get into the Chase ecosystem (I guess i am fated not have a relationship with Chase lol) With regards to Chase, the banker just asked for my Australian passport and a Capital One bank statement for ID verification purposes. I then had a much better experience with BofA. The banker was more helpful and friendly, and he set up the checking account for me. He also applied for the Atmos credit card on my behalf, and i got approved instantly with a 13k limit (This card is the one with the $95 annual fee) He also requested my passport and my physical Capital One credit card for ID verification purposes. All up, the appointment took 45 mins. I gave him my ITIN, American residential address, and also my Tello and Textnow numbers (They both can receive BofA security codes) Interestingly, the banker put down my Australian address as the residential address, and the American address as the mailing address. I have attached the banker's business card here (Don' worry, i am not getting commissions from him lol ) So, if anyone of you is visiting San Francisco in the future, and is interested in opening a BofA checking account and credit card, i highly recommend this guy and branch. I hope my info helps !
