Has anyone covered an event?
Hello! Need some help 👇 I'm kind of freelancing for a smaller brand, with no set hours and very sporadic. So recently I covered an event they did and did photos and videos (phone, DSLR and drone) and then created 4ish reels (two with VO tailored to the brand)... the initial payment agreement was 10/h since I was supposed to help with social media so it seemed more like a weekly job. I now only worked on the reels and some extra editing for the owner and I did roughly 13h of work that week, but can only charge 130€ for it. Fair point for what we agreed, but how much should I do it in the future so I don't undervalue myself, as this is non sustainable? A package for an event? Like coverage on the day + 3 reels, 20 photos for XY? I don't want to overdo it as I love te work and the brand and I know they don't have much budget but want it to make sense ofc. Any insight greatly appreciated 🙏 thank you💛

❌ Stop using CapCut until you know what you’re agreeing to 😳
Okay, so CapCut just quietly updated their Terms of Service (around June 12–21) and it’s honestly a bit of a red flag, especially if you’re a content creator. Here’s the deal: When you edit or upload any content to CapCut and yes, even private drafts, you automatically give ByteDance (the company behind TikTok) and their partners: A perpetual, global, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, modify, share, repost, and even monetize your work.Including your face, voice, style, username, and anything else in your video.😱 And no. you DON'T get credit, and you DON'T get paid. Even if you don’t post it. Even if you delete your account later. That license still stands. If your in the UK or EU you’re a little safer. EU/UK consumer laws mean companies can’t just override your basic rights. So some of this may not hold up legally if challenged. BUT The TOS still says you give them those rights, and unless you fight it legally (aka hire a lawyer), they’re assuming they can use your content however they want. So it’s still… icky.🥲 You can still use CapCut. But the second you edit something inside it, they technically get rights over it, even if you never post it. That’s why many creators are switching platforms for safer control over their content. 👇What are you doing after reading this?👇

CapCut has been playing with subscribers too much lately. Less and less features for free users and now this for all. It used to be the best but maybe it really is time to swap it out? These new license is so ridiculous I genuinely don't understand how it's even legal, imagine Google saying they can use all your Drive images for their promo 😅🤯
the secret to a pitch brands can't ignore!
I’ll never forget the first time a brand replied to my pitch! I’d sent so many emails and DMs before and heard nothing but crickets. But then I shifted my approach—and everything changed. Here are the 3 things I did that made all the difference: 1. I found the pain point and offered a solution Instead of just saying, “I’d love to create content for you,” I took a moment to think: What challenge is this brand facing? How can I help solve it? When you show a brand that you understand their needs, and have a solution, they’re much more likely to respond. 2. I made it personal Before, my pitches sounded like templates. Now, I make sure to research the brand and mention something very specific I love about them. This small effort shows the brand you genuinely care, and it helps you stand out. 3. I kept it short and clear Brands are busy! they don’t have time for long-winded emails. I stick to a few sentences that cover: - A compliment or observation about their brand - A quick intro about me - How I can help solve a problem or achieve their goal - A simple call to action  - When I started pitching this way, brands not only responded they started seeing me as someone who could add real value to their business. It wasn’t about sending more pitches; it was about sending better ones. maybe your doubting to start UGC but here’s why you should start now: 👉Right now, brands are investing heavily in UGC because it works. 👉But here’s the thing: They’re choosing creators who are already showing up. 👉Every day you hesitate, other creators are landing the deals you could have had. Hey Nyomi! Great advice! I feel like I'm following a similar procedure but still get 2/10 replies 😂 Do you have any good examples to show?
