Mukhina Progress
After being frustrated for hours after practice, I went through last week’s videos to realize that I had made a big improvement. I realized I was being really hard on myself and only considered catching as an achievement- and disregarded all of the tiny steps of achievement I HAD made 🤣 food for thought today is this: I may not be at my goal yet, but how can I applaud myself for the progress I have already made? 💗 For me, recognition of the smalls steps fuels me to want to take more! Thoughts? sending much love xo!

Things I'm working on
I've been working on the round off entry vault slowly for 4 years having never trained it when I was younger. Any tips or feedback is welcome since I don't have a coach and I don't really know what I'm doing. I want to be able to do the Yurchenko timer straight to my back without touching my feet. I'm not quite there yet, but getting closer. I've also been doing Pak Salto timers from a single bar to a mat stack for a couple months. This is the first time I've ever done it on the uneven bars with the sting mat over the low bar. I tried to tell myself it was the same thing, but it's still scary. I bent my legs out of fear, but at least I did it. Hopefully I can work on the form as it gets less scary

Hey Leilah! Amazing work. On your pac, your feet are too close to the high bar like you’re saying, so you’re bending out of instinct and it completely makes sense. Here’s a photo of where you need to be pointing your toes as you let go! As you can see here, it’s a very different direction than where your feet are pointing now, and that’s how you’ll gain that safety of being able to straighten your legs without hitting the high bar! Let me know how this feels!

This comparison pic may help too! 🤩
Skill Challenge
Last week I attempted the Mukhina. Haven’t caught it yet, relearning the basics this week and will try again next week. I like to put my video side by side to the original like this and analyze the technique. So far I see my knees aren’t bending in front of my feet like hers, causing me to jump backwards too much! Any other thoughts?
