New gear! First recording
Needs practice. My first recording into Garage band on my early birthday gift to myself. Now I need to just learn to play better. This was at least 15 takes. You guys make it all look so easy!

Big Stretch - First Release - Toe Beans
My Fellow Wavers, I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since I've been engaged in the community (#forgive) lot's of lovely life things kept getting in the way. Anywho, I was fiddling away yesterday evening and stumbled across an idea that I liked and this morning I thought "bugger it" and recorded this song. I've been working on/toying with releasing this type of music for a long while and now I'm getting to the point where I think I'm ready to pull the plug and do it. I recorded an 5 songs back in February which I have been working on to release, but this song came to me yesterday and an inner voice said that this should be the first one to come out. So! I would greatly appreciate any feedback on mixing/levels/etc from anyone that feels inspired to do so, and then I'm going to create a profile and upload this bad boy! (Mixing note: I have an old Mac and Logic. I have only used stock plugins and will continue to do so until I have a new laptop - this Mac is close to the end now and struggles just to do simple things.) Hey Freddie, happy to hear from you and listen to that beautiful track! I really love it... very smooth playing :) it's definitely something that also suits well into my study playlist ;) in case you want criticism the only 2 things that i would change are 1) the lead guitar at around 2:00 is a little harsh for my ears, but i have a very anti-harsh taste so i think a lot of people might disagree with me on that. I'd remove some high frequencies on that guitar. 2) at 0:17 there is one string ringing that i think you hit by accident.. maybe you have a cleaner take of that sequence? Other than that it's perfect to me.. really dreamy vibe. i start melting away right away :)) Let's go Toe Beans!

I mainly wanted to hop on here and congratulate everybody for the great music that has come out today! it makes me so happy to see—knowing you all (at least through the community) is just sooo fun :) great stuff from @Hvetter Hvetter, @Nathaniel Graham, @Simon Burkhardt, @Martin Eibisch, and a special shout out to @Rebecca Mardal & @Jacopo Ramonda—a little community collab no? 🥲🫶🏼🦦 and please tell me if there are more releases that I haven't noticed yet. the guitarwave playlist is happy about every new song :)

aww sweet, thank you @Sebastian Jautschus ! I will listen through all the new releases today. I wasn't signed into the community the last weeks bc I did a fultime internship at a psychology clinic but I'm back to normal life now. glad you like it Jacopo :) I know what you mean with bluesy.. I was tought some blues when I started guitar and sometimes it shines through I guess. I'm not sure how good it fits into my sound that's why I keep it a rare thing but this time it felt right. regarding that sound: @Sebastian Jautschus made a tutorial on how he does it (it's called 3x tremolo stacking or something like that) I'd say my progress is similar. I put on a lot of distortion (decapitator or devil lock by soundtoys) + tremolator with close to 100% + my standard guitar tone. that i play around and layer 2-3 different "melodies" that blend into something dreamy I wouldn't even call a melody cause you can't really tell what's going on. final step is putting pan man by soundtoys on top of it and making it move around in the stereo field.
