importance of following signing instructions
A notary was assigned a closing that included a Power of Attorney (POA). Before the appointment, the notary received detailed written instructions, notes in the file, and even a visual example showing exactly how the POA needed to be signed. Unfortunately, those instructions were not followed. The scanbacks were uploaded late that night, and only then was the error discovered. When the correction was communicated, the notary became upset despite having been provided with clear guidance beforehand. We know you can make a mistake from time to time. What defines your professionalism isn't whether we make an error, it's how we respond when one is identified.✅ If you were in this situation, what would you do? Would you acknowledge the mistake, make the necessary corrections, and ensure the documents are completed properly? Or would you refuse to correct the issue even though the instructions had been provided in advance? I'm genuinely interested in hearing how other signing professionals approach accountability and professionalism in situations like this.☺️

I would of acknowledged the mistake and been happy to make any ncessary corrections. That's what you do as professional or business owner you try to make things for your clients. Your a representation of them and your business why put that in jeopardy.
Do you travel with a mobile printer?
Hi, I'm Mariangel, a scheduler at TCSS. 👋 We had a seller package that was almost finished, and the notary had already completed the signing. At the very last minute, the title company realized they had missed two documents (5 pages) and needed them signed ASAP. Thankfully, the notary had a mobile printer in their vehicle, so they were able to print, sign, and resolve the order on the spot! It saved the day and avoided a trip back. I’m curious to see how you all work: Do you keep a mobile printer in your car for these types of situations, or do you prefer to print everything at your office/home before heading out? How often does having a mobile printer actually save a closing for you?

I would like to get a mobile printer because I'm a PT after hours notary. I dont do enough business to purchase one. Hopefully That will change soon. I don't like having to go home and print. Or scan to drive to an appointment especially if I have other things to do the travel and gas can be costly.
New to the group
Hello all, my name is Lykisha Royes, I live in NYC, been a Notary Public for 2yrs now and I thought when I began as a notary that I had to work for $2 in the state of NY and that was it. Thankfully we have platforms such as Tik Tok where I was able to dive in more information with the influencers from Tic Tok, Facebook and the good ole YouTube University I was able to turn my commission into a real career. I absolutely love and adore this business it has introduced me to more with just being commissioned. I love to learn and would like to turn my business into a signing agency as well.

⚠️ A quick tip if you're looking to work with signing services...
We've noticed this happens more often than you might think. Some notaries visit our website looking to join our network, but instead of creating a SigningOrder profile, they accidentally fill out our client contact form. Before submitting your information on any signing service's website, take a moment to make sure you're registering through the correct portal. If you're looking for work as a notary, it's always worth checking whether the company uses a vendor platform like SigningOrder or another onboarding system. A simple click in the wrong place can delay opportunities. 💬 Have you ever accidentally registered as a client instead of as a notary?
