Craft Your Own Board of Directors Using ChatGPT
In the fast-moving world of real estate, every decision counts. One powerful tool to sharpen your decision-making and gain fresh perspectives is to create your own mythical board of directors—a group of legendary figures and thinkers who embody the wisdom and mindset you aspire to. At Craft Capital Investments, we built a mythical board of directors that combines timeless wisdom, strategic insight, and creativity: - Warren Buffett – For long-term investing discipline and clarity. - Sun Tzu – For strategic thinking and competitive advantage. - Tony Freeman (a blend of Anthony Bourdain and Morgan Freeman) – For storytelling, human connection, and creative thinking. - Dr. Robert Cialdini – For understanding persuasion and influence. - Ray Dalio – For systems thinking and managing complex environments. You can create your own legendary board of directors in just a few minutes using ChatGPT. Here’s a practical prompt you can try: “I want to create a 4-5 person mythical board of directors to advise me in real estate investing. Include people (real or fictional) known for different traits:1️⃣ Strategic thinking2️⃣ Financial discipline3️⃣ Storytelling or communication4️⃣ Behavioral psychology or influence5️⃣ A wildcard creative thinkerProvide a 2-3 sentence explanation of why each person was chosen.” By doing this, you’ll gain a powerful mental model to tackle challenges and refine your approach—whether it’s negotiating a deal, managing investor relations, or scaling your portfolio. Let your mythical board challenge your thinking, bring new insights, and keep you focused on what truly matters. Ready to try it? Share your own mythical board in the comments!

@Tony Steiner We took our 10 year vision and "presented" it to the board and ask for individual feedback from each board member as well a composite board response. We wanted the board to list pro/cons and any gaps they saw.

@Vikas Kalia what experience do you have and what do you want to do? When I'm hiring, a degree to me only means, you know how to finish a long project.
Are you using Artificial Intelligence (AI) ??
I have been AI for 4+ months (all-day/every-day) and I wanted to share a new discovery with the group. Google Gemini! They've updated their model and it's really good. Particularly, Google Gemini's "Deep Research" feature is 🤯 For example, I was looking for sales comps as I'm looking at a multifamily deal in a Market that I'm unfamiliar with. I used "deep research" to discover the recent sales in the last 3 years. And what it was able to find was WILD. Previously, I exclusively used ChatGPT (the $20 / month version). But honestly, I've found it to be too much of a hype-man. I've found that it's always is telling me extremely positive things. But sometimes, I want to just be told the "hard truth". I'll log my meals and workouts in GPT and it NEVER has said "Can you push it harder?" or hey, I noticed you were faster last week. What's going on? Instead, it's always "You crushed that workout boss!" I don't want to influence anyone - this is simply my opinion. Have you tried Google Gemini? What AI models are you guys using for both personal and business? CHECK THIS OUT! This is an example of what Deep Research on Gemini can do: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18BeJKEYR3tc3Q6jNNlntfpvwiRcYgzi9He72aTZJ5yo/edit?usp=sharing

I love Google Gemini. I actually use several AI models. Very often I have them fact check each others output. My favorite Gemini story is my wife wanted me to research credit cards that offer cash back. I drafted my prompt and sent Gemini on its way. It searched over 300 websites in seconds and gave a me list sorted highest to lowest on cash back and annual fees.

Another use I like AI for is to summarize and point out any issues, discrepancies, or one-sided sections of a contract. This is NOT a replace for your legal team, but helps you focus the questions you have and reduce the legal teams billing hours :-)
