Introduction
Hi. Shanna here (pronounced Shaun-a or Shaw-na). I am a Southern Californian moved to South Carolina. We have a small 3 acre homestead where we grow produce and raise dairy goats. We just added fruit trees to our property finally. Wishing my husband would have been on board and added them 5 years ago when we bought the place. I am hoping to learn way more being here and learn to work better with our land.

@Daniel Gabor if youโ€™re allowed to have them where you live itโ€™s pretty easy. Just make sure they have a structure to get out of the elements and feed them hay, with a side of free choice minerals and baking soda. Keep up with parasite loads and trimming hooves. Pretty easy
Introduction
Hello from Texas (an hour North of Austin known as the hill country; Zone 8b). For the past 10 years my beloved and I have stewarded just under 5 acres of land. Admittedly building a house on our own for 6 years, โ€œlife-ingโ€, fear of the unknown, some procrastination and a major life event mixed in at the beginning of this year has us not as far along on the natural gardening/permaculture/KNF journey as I would have liked. I have not completed the PDC, so seeing this new group form in the Skool app reinvigorated my interest (thank you for that). Successes: 1) Outdoor bathtub vermicomposting setup 2) Pollinator garden 3) Herb garden 4) Multiple fruit trees 5) Greywater setup (though sadly it failed at the beginning of the summer so back to the drawing board) Current issues: 1) Confidence 2) Time and energy 3) Drought 4) Freezing winters 5) GRASSHOPPERS!!!!!! They are annihilating so many of our trees!!

I have to admit I had no clue grasshoppers destroyed trees.

@Kristine Traylor Good to know. We have a lot of oak, pine, and cedar here around our property. We see grasshoppers but never noticed the damage they do as we have other pests we deal with.
Natural pond ideas
Show me your natural ponds! Looking for inspiration on small natural ponds using bog filters. Google offers plenty, but would love to see some ideas from you people here. ๐Ÿ˜Š Thanks!

I really love this idea and hope one day to have a natural pond for a pool

@Savannah Yost You aren't lying about the starting and finishing. I like that idea. My husband said we could have ducks again after we have a pond for them because the pool system and filtration was not it.
Working with postage stamps
I'm Lisa, in downtown Toronto. My dream is to have land in the country, for now I'm doing my best maximize my front and back postage stamp sized yards in as integrated a way as I can.

Vertical gardening all the way! You can totally do it
Introducing Stefano Creatini
Howdy Holistic Homestead Folks! I'm excited to introduce you to a very good friend of mine, a fellow who is actually even more passionate about permaculture than myself, Stefano. It's a funny story but I met him in Durango, CO a few years back because I purchased my aquaponics system from him - you likely saw it. Anyway, his enthusiasm for spreading permaculture and helping people reaching towards self-sustainability and freedom is nothing short of inspiring. He wanted to help revive and take over the HHA program, improving it to match peoples needs and upgrade it to include interactive community technology that will help people way more than just another online course. Your courses have all been migrated from Kajabi to Skool here, and has been condensed, to make it easier and more digestible. You'll be seeing a whole lot more of Stefano as he re-ignites the Holistic Homestead!
