Lesson 1 - Definitely an Impossible Space Game
I drew the first thing came to mind and it quickly turned into a reaction gif.

I'd love some feedback on what you think so far! You gotta be my guinea pig, ok? Does this help you? If not...what would? Do you like the lesson plan so far? Like the style?

I like how bite-sized they are, for now! it's fun to see how comparatively little effort needs to go into a single mechanic, and it gives me space and time to add a bit of my own flair.
Homework lesson 1
hi! I just did Spawnpoint lesson 1. I decided to change the ship into something resembling Twinbee! and yes I realize I just aged myself lmao. Also, I looked at the code, and I decided I wanted to snazz up the stars background. By experimenting, I discovered the following: in the --draw stars segment, the 7 in 'pset(s.x,s.y,7) determined the color of the star pixel. In the button code above there's an example of randomization x=rnd(128) . I changed the 7 in the draw stars segment to rnd(10) and now I have cool sparkly stars! the relevant part now looks like this: --draw stars for s in all(stars) do pset(s.x,s.y,rnd(10)) end

I actually expected the stars to be static but differently colored, but I now realize it's because the draw function clears the screen and redraws the stars every frame that it randomizes the color every frame, too! unintended but honestly, really cool imho.
Lesson 3 Homework (Gary does a move)
I've made a Gary, and to challenge myself this time I've made additional sprites so Gary looks in the direction that he's moving towards! Might be a tad tricky to see in this tiny GIF but there you have it! :D

Hawt Dawg (lesson 2)
Does this count as an idle game? I think it does. I combined the spider simulator animation lesson with this homework assignment to create an animation of a dog eating the hot dogs. I find that slightly disobeying the homework and adding to it helps my creativity going, and practice fundamentals. :D
