Connections
Hi All, I'm under the full understanding that connections are a huge part in the world of M&A and have really what enabled me to purchase 2 businesses without my own money put into the deal. That being said, I'd love to connect with more people within this space. I'm based in the West Midlands of the UK. Anyone here based in the UK? If so, drop a comment below. Anyone not based in the UK, please feel free to comment too, as I love hearing what people in this industry are up to. Have a great week all. Regards Jordan

Hi @John Mignano I am based in Northamptonshire. I have experience in accounting and finance, have been running an education business in UK for the last 13 years and also started a team augmentation agency (i.e. outsourcing company). What is your sector and experience?
UK Based?
Who here is UK based? Always nice to talk to people face to face. First stage is understanding who is local?

@Daryl Cygler That is interesting. I came across a few marketing agencies in financial troubles. Would you be interested in turnaround opportunities too? I have been in education sector for 12 years, but I wouldn't say this is my strategy. I am looking at variety of companies as with my accounting and finance background, experience in operations and sourcing people (and outsourcing), I am happy to look at any acquisition opportunity. Currently I run our own education business and VA outsourcing / team augmentation business.

@Daryl Cygler I will connect with you. It is always good to have like minded people in the network. I like your intro video on Linkedin.
To Partner or Go Alone?
So, what do people say? When buying a company, should you go alone or partner up with someone else? Pro's Con's. Let's take a vote: Please respond 'Partner' or 'Alone' in replies. Partner means to sign formal partnership/JV agreement to team up to complete the acquisition(and share equity) and Alone means 'I want to do this alone and keep all equity to myself'. Vote in comments.

It depends on circumstances. But my preference is PARTNER with someone as one does not have all knowledge and expertise.
