@Caroline Moss poor man 😞
Gorgeous grooming session.
I had a lovely groom with a rescue from abroad. He was so fearful when he came in but he settled down with me and did brilliantly. I did a 10 minute video as we were communicating and his mum has said I can put it on social media. I just love these types of grooms so much.

@Stephanie Zikmann at the time I thought his looks were more of a "side eye" so I was averting my gaze but watching it back it looks like maybe it was more of a reassurance glance.

@Kathryn Cartlidge he was with me about an HR and a half. Mum stayed for 10 minutes at the beginning. I do half HR sessions/ 1hr and then full groom sessions depending on the dog but surprisingly he stayed with me the whole time. Often they get up and go to the door when they have had enough but he stayed. It's amazing to think how trusting dogs are even after such traumatic lives.
Promoting myself
Today I’ve done something I’ve been putting off since I opened…I have finally invested in my future and ordered 1000 leaflets to advertise my business!! After being abused by other local groomers I admit I’ve avoided public adverts for fear that they’d bad mouth me, but you know what I’ve proven myself and my business’s worth so to hell with them…I’m going to help my business become all it should be!!! Go me!!! 🏆 hope you all like it!!! 😃

Love your leaflet. If I was a potential client I would definitely want to go here 🙂
Pet Loss
Dearest community, please forgive my 'MIA' the last couple of days. My most precious girl, Nala, has been in end of life care for the last year, and passed away yesterday afternoon in the safety of her home, in the arms of the person who loved her the most in the world. I'm trying to navigate the loss of the very best 'dog teacher', a behaviour student could ever have asked for - she taught me so much about boundaries, about deep-rooted behaviours, about dog-on-dog conflict, about food resource guarding, and so much more. But most importantly of all, she taught me that even a dog with significant behaviour and physical impairments, can be supported. Can be beautiful. Can be loving. Can be the best comfort in times of stress. I am utterly devastated. I am broken. So, I ask that you all please bare with me as I may be a little less active in this space over the next few days. If there's anything really important remember you can reach out to @Clare Hudson Hill or @Vanessa Barber - our HGA tutors. I intend to be back on track for our next Live check in on Monday.

Shelter dogs usually have their nails worn right down from being in concrete pens or on the streets. I think in some countries it's common practice to cut through the quick but yes. That is painful and traumatic. On the whole, here in the UK we don't do that, and I have not heard of it being taught. It's better to get the dog to come in every 2 weeks and take a bit off at a time, and if possible get the guardian to use a nail file or scratch board in between. I have an infographic that I can share with you if it helps?
