Behaviour modification
Within my grooming I have stopped taking on any new customers because I am going into dog training and also want to help owners with their dogs that need more help with their dogs grooming building confidence. I want to create a programme and tailor it to each dog. Every dog is different but realistically would a min of 3 months if they were to come for visits for 4 weeks a then gradually get a bit longer then spaced out be a good idea? With me also showing then bits that they can do inbetween. I was originally thinking 6 months programme? Not sure how you roll I on out after that either I have a time limit with some dogs I have at the moment and what’s not done that’s it but they are happy with that and that’s every 8 weeks.

Hi! I do a behavioural program. It’s 4 sessions commitment weekly or two weekly and we work throu introductions of touch, sound and equipment etc. very rarely do the dogs only need 4 sessions but I find if ppl won’t commit to those then that tells me they aren’t my kind of client. I’ve taken some inspiration from Sue Williamson crossed with HGA and it’s working well so far. None of my dogs are on a longer schedule than 4 weekly so I can keep the sessions short and stress low as they have all been throu the program. Hope that helps a bit?x
Live Check-In - Week 8 💖
@Matti Poland I've answered your queries regarding the courses and membership tiers - let me know if it makes sense as I don't mind going over it via Zoom. @Rachena Kumari wasn't sure if you were joining tonight to have a chat, but let me know if you still want to go over the accreditation options ☺️ Aside from this, I would like to say a massive thank you to you all for your lovely messages regarding the passing of my beloved, Nala - life is just not the same without her big fluffy presence and our hearts are aching, but I find peace in knowing that I made the right choice for her, and she was able to pass away with dignity ❤️‍🩹 We have quite a lot of events coming up in April - check out our calendar tab above to get them in your diaries! A combination of Q&A's and Webinars to look forward to. First up is the 'Dont Walk Your Dog Day' challenge this April 2nd - we invite you to join us in not walking our dogs, and instead, take part in other activities that our dogs may find fun! Join me from 7pm on April 2nd, to share what you got up to (link is in calendar and this is open to all members). Once again, just a reminder for those who transferred over from Thinkific, that your complimentary 2-month premium subscription will expire on April 1st - if you wish to remain an official HGA member, you must upgrade to our Premium Tier to continue getting access to our membership classroom. There's no obligation to remain a member, but if you choose not to reinstate, you must remove all HGA logos from your marketing and promotional material, and your listing from the HGA Directory. Pet Loss
Dearest community, please forgive my 'MIA' the last couple of days. My most precious girl, Nala, has been in end of life care for the last year, and passed away yesterday afternoon in the safety of her home, in the arms of the person who loved her the most in the world. I'm trying to navigate the loss of the very best 'dog teacher', a behaviour student could ever have asked for - she taught me so much about boundaries, about deep-rooted behaviours, about dog-on-dog conflict, about food resource guarding, and so much more. But most importantly of all, she taught me that even a dog with significant behaviour and physical impairments, can be supported. Can be beautiful. Can be loving. Can be the best comfort in times of stress. I am utterly devastated. I am broken. So, I ask that you all please bare with me as I may be a little less active in this space over the next few days. If there's anything really important remember you can reach out to @Clare Hudson Hill or @Vanessa Barber - our HGA tutors. I intend to be back on track for our next Live check in on Monday.

Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time ❤️ xx
Bathing question
If you could choose your perfect bathing setup in your salon, what would it be: stainless steel electric bathtub, hydrobath or build on the high of your hip a walki-in shower? Or maybe something else? I am planning how my salon should look like and I would love some input from experienced groomers. Thank you! 🤎🧡❤️

I have a steel electric bath as height adjustable was crucial for my back. So far I’ve not had any big issues and I use a yoga mat to reduce sounds inside. Ideally I’d have had a shower but it’s within my home and would cost too much to convert when time comes to move on! X
