Diets don't work, or do they?๐Ÿค”
It might be an unpopular opinion but I genuinely don't believe in the effectiveness of diets. If a diet becomes a lifestyle though, it's a totally different situation! Let's assume we are talking about following a diet with the goal to lose weight. Regardless of how strict a diet is, most diets often lead to short-term results. Which is great. But if dieting is seen as temporary solution for long-term results, you'll gain weight just as easily once you stop following the diet. It happens all the time, to many people all over the world, and it's so demotivating because it almost feel like all the effort and hard work you put in was for nothing... It's very much a psychological challenge, because we often prefer to have something as quickly as possible. But the most important question is to ask ourselves is often: What are you willing to compromise in order to not just get to the desired state, but to also stay there, and never having to go back to the current sate? Whether it's related to weight loss, weight gain or fitness levels in general, quick fixes generally result in even quicker and more impactful consequences in the long run. Instead of trying to lose lots of weight in a super short period of time by cutting out all sorts of food, adjusting your food intake in such a way you don't feel like you're "losing"/compromising too much, if you're changing what it is you are used to, it becomes a much more enjoyable ride. One you can be on for the rest of your life if you treat yourself well, rather than being super strict with either rewarding or punishing yourself. Maybe it makes sense, maybe it's too black-and-white, so I am curious to hear what your take is on the impact and effectiveness of diets, compared to changes to your lifestyle?

@Karen Vidgeon It's almost as if it's meant to be like that right? First becoming dependent on them, and then making it more expensive because will pay for it anyway. It's an interesting business model, unfortunately not predominantly in the interest of the consumer...

@Karen Vidgeon Yesss the world we live in is quite interesting... Money over health, safety, security, well-being, development, etc. Not for everyone, but for too many it's reality.
Less social media -> More purpose
๐Ÿซ  Listen, recently I have been pushing to much, and you know what, I actually am alright with it! You might say BS! BRO GRIND HARDER PUSH TROUGH IT, my answer is nahh bro. Here's why ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป When I was sitting on the ferry traveling, i sat next to these two guys talking about their experience with discconecting from their digital life. And that got me to reflect over how impactfull that has been for me. Now it's been two months since i re-installed my phone and quit the most addictive social media for me... Snapchat. The diffrence is night and day. I lied to myself unknowingly. I had turned notifications off. And then repeated to myself "It's so nice not having any distractions". But I was lowkey cheking on there every 10-20 minutes, so in reality it was only partially true, because i was still constantly distracting myself because of my curioscity! Since the disconnection event I have noticed, a lot ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€, more ๐—ฝ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—น๐—น ๐—ฒ๐˜…๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด, and the excess ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐˜† to reflect on what I'm actually doing. So for instance I'm currently working on my subconsoius perspective of productivity, turns out my perspective wasn't serving me! And now my perspective on productivity is changing as we speak! More strict, more specific about exactly what had to be done and if not that, then not productive. โ€ข There's either success or not success โ€ข "busy is being productive" ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„ โ€ข It's not always as simple as success or not success โ€ข Feel like I know that I have to go slow sometimes but might not have fully experienced that or accepted it โ€ข Doing What I like feels productive If you'd like to become more aware It's very nice to see how your perspective changed from: - Fixed and strict to more flexible and open-minded - Being busy to being productive and doing what you like Social media can be fun, if it helps us with social interaction, entertainment, perhaps even to learn some stuff. But if it doesn't, and either of these become either too much (or too little), it's not really helpful anymore. For example ("bad"): - Too little social interaction, too much entertainment - Very limited learning, too much entertainment For example ("good") - Lots of social interaction, little entertainment - Lots of learning, decent amount of entertainment I totally agree though, less social media automatically results in a better and more aligned focus on purpose because we all know social media is just too distracting from what really matters because it's not designed with that purpose in mind.

@Andreas Smith Solberg True, and social media is not bad, not at all, just like with AI, if we use it to our advantage it can be great! Being aware of how we use it is definitely important, conscious choices it is!๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜‰
Are You Chasing More Than You Should?
**Please take some time to read this. It might change your perspective** Money isnโ€™t everything. Itโ€™s just paper, numbers, or contracts. But it can give you opportunities, to learn, explore, grow, and yes, to own things that matter. Money is a tool, not the goal. A person who loves the journey will go farther than the one who only wants the destination. But even someone who loves walking must learn to stop at the right time. Otherwise, they keep chasing more and never enjoy what theyโ€™ve reached. We all need to find what gives life meaning. For me, itโ€™s sharing what I know, learning from others, and growing along the way. The joy isnโ€™t just in reaching the end. itโ€™s in walking, discovering, and knowing when to pause. Use what you have, money, skills, experience, to serve your purpose, not the other way around. Keep moving, keep learning, but remember to appreciate the milestones along the journey.

Beautiful post @Marcus Skรฅlevik! The journey is always more important than the destination, so so true! I always remind myself of the destination being chosen at a given point on the journey. Usually at the start! ๐Ÿ˜œ Along the way you generally the destination has either gotten super close, as if it's the start of a new journey, or you have defined a new destination altogether! Which is the beauty of life, dealing with whatever it "throws" at us!๐Ÿ™
